What I did for Love .

LOVE . A words uttered by many several times a day . Love you , love ice cream , love the movie ..love this love that . . How easy and convenient this verbal expression has become . Our grand parents rarely used it and taught that actions speak louder than words and true love speaks for itself. In this modern day and age if anyone recited a love poem to his or her lover may be declared insane while watching a summer blockbuster Star Wars holding hands very romantic.

According to me there is no right or wrong way to express LOVE and each onto their own . Who am I to judge any generation or an act even if I honestly detest the Star War series. The tale I am about to relate is evidence of my silliness and what I did for Love - for my ISHQ .

The show honestly was odd and many a times stunted in its creativity . Just about every character slapped someone or got slapped . About every character of importance was kidnapped . All were admitted to the hospital at least once. . The show was generous to give DT and Viplav 2 wives , Dhani 2 husbands, Vidha and Atharva 2 fathers . Stingy to not give dadi any real dialogue . cruel to kill the ladies in white in a blast and inconsistent in it characterization. Yet I watched daily ( minus the 10 days Mish was away ) without fail . Yeh Pyaar nahin to kya hai ...wink wink.

My IKRS journey started with a beautiful poster and a lady in white who got me subscribing to this desi channel. Its odd air time made it impossible for me to be watch it at the appointed time leaving me no option but to record and watch at leisure. Only that the leisure happened way past human sleep hours. While the world slept and the other half up on their feet rushing to their errands I would sit and watch dopey eyed heavy with sleep and genuine fondness for the leads . Out with sleep when you have two beautiful people and their crackling chemistry onscreen. Its what dreams are made of therefore no complaints.

Next came the fun part. I joined back IF after several years for my second outing with desi telly and chanced upon some very good writing by Hammie , among others. It was a pleasure to read her posts everyday and soon i was tempted to participate , my trouble that she posted them way past my bedtime with the only choice of replacing my morning newspaper with her post. World affairs takes a back seat when compared to the affairs of fictional characters right ? Now all I needed was quality time to write a response and what better place than a calm environment of an office between meetings , calls and a demanding boss . Chewing at a sandwich at lunch always cleared my head and provided the fuel to write a short take . Most of the days i was the last to write ( a day late ) and had to chase the dear lady to pleeeaaasse read . Thx Hammie , if u are reading this , for giving me the space to jabber.

The group collectively decided to begin a daily Live Update thread with moi being its primary beneficiary. Darn it - why do work places have 9.00 am as the start of the day ? Don't they know its the time for IKRS to be aired in India and that half hour needs to be declared as a siesta for all. When do lovers ever care of such distractions as work reporting time and always find a way to get to their object of affection. Smart phones are a gift from the Gods themselves came to my rescue and the refresh button my favorite key. Thanks to all my LU updaters who never failed to reach in time and report on daily activity .

This act of love has to be my shining moment. Vacations are an unwanted interruption when not a moment can be missed in the lives of Viplav & Dhani , I mean Kamini , that too for a week . HArd to explain it to the family who are hell bent on visiting destinations with poor cell service and insist on checking out each tourist site . CAn I be blamed when my only option is to secretly sneak out at 4:00 am in the one cheesy corner of the hotel to catch good reception of wifi and have a fill of Kamini doing her raas Leella . The second day I was caught and questioned but Jab Pyaar kiya to darna kya ??? My excuse was ready - Was up early to check out the gym - thank god my chappals went unnoticed.

Yep ..we all have stories as to What crazies we underwent . Come on fess up ...tell me yours .I need to know .

Guys while we wrap up and watch the final episode today with the forum getting closed soon I may not get the opportunity to wish you all well. I had such a roaring time here with you all and my IHSQ journey would not have been a happy one had I not known you all . I will miss you all and will meet you again as soon as Mish comes back in a show.

Love to all...And for he last time Do comment ...

For the last time ratna?? I can comment everytime u make a post here in this forum.. We all can.. Ishq members belong to one big family.. We all are family members here.. Fight with each other, discuss, chit chat, have fun and we love and respect each other..
u have made a great post ratna.. Feeling emotional.. Will burst into tears after today's episode.. How I used to love this show.. We all used to be crazy about ikrs and our forum.. Everything is going to end.. Our show will telecast its last episode today and after sometime the forum will get locked..

I was really smiling after reading those incidents which u have mentioned.. Ha ha ha ratna, u r a crazy ishq fan.. We too.. I had to see those romantic kisses of vidha with my mother sitting beside me, sometimes daddy too.. I used to try hard to hide my 32 out wala smile but every time I failed to cover up my cheeks which used to turn into two tomatoes seeing vidha hugging and kissing.. Those were our days.. Pata nahin.. What I used to do while watching my show.. Always kept my phone on silent so that no one can ever disturb me from 6:30 to 7... Never wanted my mom to go out in the evening so that I dont have to go and attend any salesman or someone who, if, they come at our door..
We all are a group of crazy people.. Will miss u tremendously ratna.. And mishal too off course.. His ikrs too.. I will miss everything related to this show.. Had been watching it since episode 1.. How difficult it is to see the end. !

Hope to meet u again in some other forum ratna.. Before this forum gets locked.. Please come here sometimes at least to say a hellooo.. We all will be sneaking in sometimes with the hope to get some news about mishal's next show.. Who knows he may return soon to give us, the crazy people, a new forum for chit chatting..

Prem, your post had me laughing too! 😆 My husband's made it a habit to make fun of my infatuation with Viplav and IKRS. He's a man and I don't expect him to make a connection with a beautiful love story. I once told him that I wished that our love story was as intense as Viplav and Dhani's. His eyes rolled in response to my comment. 🤣
It truly was a beautiful love story with a beautiful backdrop and the most talented leads. I don't think I'll ever stop gushing about this show. 😳 Prem, it's been a pleasure interacting with you. You've always been one of the voices of reason here. I've always enjoyed reading your perspective and takes on the show. I wish you the very best in the future. I sincerely hope we meet again very soon for Mishal's next show. Until then, take care my friend! 🤗

wonderful post.
Thanks Ratna for posting your memories which explain how did you become one of the biggest fans of IKRS , Mishal and Eisha.

I smiled imagining your happy moments. and I remembered some of mine which weren't always happy. As a married woman like Dazzy I too have a tough time with my hubby. and watching IKRS upseted him many times. 😔

But I continued watching it for the love of the story and the actors. I loved Mishal more in those days. but I started falling for Viplav then Eisha. But when all that happened ..and ViDha's love story started. and their secret marriage happened I shifted to a new place and wasn't able to watch IKRS proberly. Then couldn't watching it at all.

but for the love of IKRS. I kept reading your and Hammie's posts. I discussed the show with you without even watching it. coz the biggest love I have is for you my friends who make this happy family !😃

Dazz... Ditto ditto here. I have been caught watching the reruns at 3 in the morning that has made my husband wonder what on earth is going on. Oh gosh... Can't really tell you how embaressed I was then... It was the episodes on their marriage and post that... When viplav used to find ways to sneak in to meet his lovely Dhani... Oh!! Now that it's all ending ... I feel how lost I was in this journey of love and misunderstanding and trust.
The best part of all was when I went to my mum place for vacation... I got my mom hooked to it... And my husband had a hearty laugh looking at me and mum going crazy over viplav and Dhani.
Looking back... Everything's worth it. I am gonna miss these two terribly.

Thanks for the post Ratna... Big hug to you.

Hope to see you all in a forum soon ... Till then take care girlies.

Awww, Nutty! You understand! 😆 I always see my hubsy smirking out of the corner of my eye as I'm typing away and posting on the forum. I think he finds it amusing that I'm that attached to a television show. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my mom into the show. She watched a few episodes with me, but wasn't able to make a connection. 😒 She's always been more about plot than chemistry. Take care Nutty, until we meet again! ❤️

Yaar friends.. I cant stop laughing.. Daz and nitiya u both are crazy.😆. Wants to have a love story similar to that of vidha's🤣 and seriously, I too had watched a few episodes post marriage in the midnight.. I used to study till 2-2:30 at night and then sit to watch those repeat telecasts of vidha romance😆
No one really knows about this.. Everyone used to sleep and I used to enjoy those scenes keeping my tv on silent😆.. Once I was caught redhanded by my grandfather.. Had to immediately switch on one of the news channels where some slim trim belt advertisement was being shown at 3am in the night..
Was so embarrassed then..😆 Had to lie that I was just trying to watch the repeat telecast of Mahabharat.. Arjun is fighting furiously🤣

Seriously I cant beleive that from tomorrow there will be no IKRS and viplav will go away for ever, never to return back after this...😭😭 (usually I dont use these cry emoticons.. But u tell me can there be any other emoji which can express what Ishq fans are feeling right at this moment.?😭.)

Ratna your post inspired me too to write what the love for this show did to me...

A mother's work is never done...

Especially when she is having fun...

I watch the show, the dinner is late..

The kids are hungry, no food on their plate...

I send them to school, the dishes stacked high...

No food in the cupboard and still we get by...

They all understand the show is the tops...

Until it is over the laundry piles up...

What is the reason these excuses are made ?

The show you can blame is "Ishq Ka Rang Safed" ...

I loved the show and all the friends I made in this forum.

Thank you Ratna, please do keep in touch, this is definitely so long and not good bye.. 🤗 Take care, best wishes , till we meet again...

Hi Ratna.,
What a post...lol...you always bring on something unique to talk about
& this one is no exception.
Oh the ridiculous things I did ...more to be on the forum, this being my first.
I found my comfortable time to watch & rewatch episodes without much interruptions,
but the forum addiction made everyone around me crazy...they screamed, "you are addicted""
& I nodded happily..."yes, its a sweet addiction"
I have cheated at my workplace just so I can be on the forum...extra long lunch breaks
& out of office assignments that were not really important.
My family has just given up on me & they don't know yet of the show ending...Haha!!
Oh yes this was one crazy journey for me personally.
Will miss all the fun & frolic now that it's all come to an end.

It was wonderful meeting you & others here,..it's something I never imagined doing .
Hope Mishal hears our cry & comes back soon , so we can drool all over again.
Until then , TC & best wishes
