Firstly , thank you for making this heartmelting post on one of the most relatable characters that I have seen onscreen or read about in books! For me Viplav Tripathi is just adorable!
Oh this guy has faults for sure...BIG ONES...the prime and most glaring one being his impulsiveness and that has got him into trouble more than once. He's naive and too trusting...and therefore appears foolish at times ...Yes he is not the ideal man whom you would put on pedestal and worship for his greatness ...Well I don't really want a character whom I want to worship -rather someone whom I can feel with and that Viplav has certainly made me do!
He's been extremely unjust to Dhani driving her out of his home(and I will never excuse him for this) and blindly believing that his grandfather was next to God .He's paying for this big time!...he's been a victim of his family's scheming ways...but that has not made him lose faith.Like any of us he is disillusioned at times at the betrayal he has faced from all quarters but comes back again to embrace life.
Actually I've thoroughly enjoyed the many shaded character that he is...even his arrogance!.I loved the sparkle in his naughty eyes and his humorous oneliners! I was floored by the way he pursued Dhani and tricked her into confessing her love for him...he seemed to know Dhani more than she did herself!
His kindness, his practicality in not following outdated rituals ,having the boldness to marry a poor uneducated widow despite hailing from the most renowned of families only because he loved her are sterling qualities indeed. He has been a guiding light for the widows and led them in their journey towards self sufficiency. He is transparent and wears his heart on his sleeve...not a very wise thing to do and that's why he's been taken advantage of.But for me he has a golden heart which beats and cries out for the love of his angelic daughter and beloved wife.
I agree the writers have marred his character to a great extent in the rat race for garnering trps and in their incompetence in giving the viewers a convincing and logical story but whatever on the whole has been distilled makes him stand out as a human being who is capable of infinite love and is thoroughly human.
I don't know whether his faults are more than his good qualities ...maybe they are but I love this character as he is.
Kudos to Mishal Raheja for giving life to one of the most endearing characters .Viplav Tripathi would not have been possible or even exist without him!
Sorry , I've gone on writing with perhaps not much connection between my thoughts but this is my lame attempt at voicing what I think about the character who who has given me so much of joy and it is for him that I continue to watch this show till now.
