It's often accepted that blood ties and familial bonds take precedence over other relationships. This concept is rubbed in by Kanak to dissuade Viplav from fighting for justice .Viplav is in a vulnerable situation he needs herculean strength to honour his blood tie leanings plus stay on the right track.. interestingly what would relationship would a wife come under? after marriage...
To Viplav it seems the world has turned against him along with his uncontrollable temper. For the sake of having a meagre two minutes with Dhani he is reminded of station protocol that his visiting time is up! hence he cannot meet Dhani. Viplav persists with his genuine excuse, he had to deal with an emergency case but that too does not suffice either. Quite simply he is told by the police that he has to now wait for the next slot of visiting hours. The grim delay urges him to think about what is most imperative in this situation where unfortunate circumstance causes delay in their meeting .he will have to let Dhani know he is here , he cares, he loves her and he is not far from her but very near.. near and dejected Viplav leaves and sits the by the way side fast food vendor directly opposite the police station.
At AN Viplav's mother begs at the feet of the Awasthi women for the sake of her daughter Shalu. her reputation their respectability in Banaras . Sulochana knows how to play her cards well and from kanaks words she takes her cue to prove she has maternal emotions too and replies deviously ,she respects Kanak's sentiments as she too is a mother. But at the same time Sulochana also skilfully maintains the upper hand and continues to play hard to get by replying the water has passed over their heads and ,hence they are calling the wedding off. This brings Dashrant into a beseeching situation too calling after them but they leave haughtily. Devastated Kanak needs someone to blame and like always Dhani s name comes upon out of her mouth like some bitter medicine and she protests with much venom in her heart ,all this is Dhani's doing she has destroyed everything they had. There is no way she will spare her alive! Kanak vows.
However Kanak's babu boy without her knowledge ,is more preoccupied outside the police station by keeping Dhani's spirits alive ! the sustenance of her body going.. sitting before the food vendor Dhani's repetitive protests hammer his brain , she didn't kill any one!! Her cries to him and that tug when her fingers were pulled away from the grip of his fingers, when she forced out of his by the police hurt him. How utterly helpless he had felt at that moment in time; how he had watched her lugged away in the police jeep like a common criminal; how he ran after the jeep to save her ! and he couldn't then, and now .. with her behind bars would he save her now ? muses a miserable Viplav his eyes glaze with tears, formed by the droplets of blood squeezed out of his heart. No wants he has now. All his needs vanish. He refuses the thalli brought to him by the vendor. But then a need sparks his heart and his dewy eyes glow. He grabs the very thalli and in no time begs the constable to take the food to Dhani she must be starving . But he was told she had been served prisoners food already. But Viplav does what Viplav plans.. To send his beloved a message,far or near till the day she is declared his before everyone, they will have at least one meal of the day together! Viplav begs the police man to take the food to Dhani with the message Viplav has sent it for her.. But before it's taken away a Viplav starved for his Dhani's love. Breaks off a morsel, a fragment of love that will serve as a link between them!
The food of love sent for his wife from her husband slides across the rough prison floor to Dhani, Viplav has sent it! Is enough for Dhani.. and her soul sings out for her beloved, "the colour of life is white.. the colour of life is white".. she takes the thalli in her hands , and his words resound in her mind's eye, for the next twenty days one meal of the day we will shall share together..she recalls how tenderly he ate from her hand and she from his... "which ever way my life goes ,its colour will be white".. Viplav outside waits with the morsel of love in his fingers.. Dhani brings her morsel slowly , looks down at the morsel in her fingers and then pops it in her mouth.. simultaneously outside Viplav pops his morsel in his mouth and chews it, morosely ,"no one sees my tears , that I shed in silence away from all" Dhani swallows and weeps as she recalls the first moments of happiness they had in the shack the day they got married!.. Heartbroken Viplav too stands and recalls how he had covered her head with Maata's chunni in public underneath her white widow's sari how he had proudly owned her and declared her before the cruel tongues of the world. Both weep at their separation from each other,"no one sees my tears as I hide and weep.. All the colours have turned away from my life .. what else can I say? Dhani weeps and Viplav pokes his elbows on the bonnet of his jeep and hangs his head in misery. Then miserable he sits under a tree in the courtyard of the police station. ..The colour of love is white my beloved".. Love gives strength a certain, a tenacity that grips both the heart and the mind. The night of separation passes and the morning of hope ,in seeing Dhani comes up .Keenly Viplav jumps to feet approaches the officer , could he see Dhani now? But was yet again turned down and asked to wait for another hour. Viplav decides to head home and gather his relevant papers. Police delaying tactics could be prompted by Dashrant .
A mother's worst nightmare, her only daughter in prison done for a murder she hadn't committed. Dulari wakes up in hospital and wants to be beside Dhani at the station . Raj laxmi and sita maa try to restrain the terribly distressed Dulari. Rajlaxmi provides her solace, reminds her viplavis there by Dhani ,nothing will happen to her.
If Viplav thinks he can just sail into his house without music! He has another thing coming! Dashrant booms he feels ashamed of himself today before Viplav tirpathi! who has beaten him completely! By the fact that he continues to have clandestine meetings with that widow Dhani! and they knew nothing about it!and despite everything he still went to the police station to get her released! Only goes to show that he couldn't care less about his sister's honour nor your grandfathers reputation! Viplav hates this comparison that his family draws a distinction between his family and Dhani. His mother too jumps in and taunts at Viplav's unconcern with his sister's honour, family good name and respectability! He only cares about that witch Dhani! Viplav roars at her and reminds them for the umpteenth time its' not how they see it , yes he loves Dhani but that doesn't alter the fact that he loves his family too! This is a reasonable mind set for Viplav too harbour , but Kanak wants him to break his thinking ,with a view to shunting Dhani out of his life ,which Viplav is unprepared to do at all times!.. he admits, true say he hid this from them that he meets her , because he loves her , and cannot let her receive punishment for what she hasn't done! but why should Dhani get punished ? Kanak drags in Shalu ,and graphically spews there was a wedding meant to happen here! he had decorated every thing ..now its being pulled down! all because he is responsible for bringing darkness in his sisters life! All this is due to that witch Dhani!. Vociferously Viplav fights for his rights of being Shalu'sbrother .he yells , as her brother he has every right to protect and show concern about his sisters future! Dshrant comes in with his manipulations , how can viplav save Shalu wedding from disaster? There exists a complication if you save Dhani hen Raja and his family would turn against him!he can see his dada ji is bargaining , he glares at his dadaji and replies and dashrant tries to make him understand that once they bear animosity against him why would they marry his sister? Viplav argues , say he doesn't love Dhani , then in his capacity as a lawyer without any witness , or solid evidence should he send an innocent person to the gallows? Kanak glares at him , totally disregarding that her son has qualified as a lawyer she wants him to threw his specialism in the gutter and have low level thinking like herself.. Viplav bellows in rage at the cataracts of ignorance in both his mother's and dada ji's eyes ..he thunders , if what Dhani says is true and they get Shalu married off to Raja and they find out his truth later ? what would they do then?? Kanak pulls a face and claps!bravo no matter what happens he will never call that witch guilty! Viplav holds his head in despair! Kanak argues why won't he consider her guilty? and Viplav replies calmly she is right he will never call Dhani guilty, because he trusts her more than he trusts himself! and Viplav turns away from the sad blind pair , for whom the mission of their life has become to exterminate Dhani from his life in fact the planet earth. Seeing the width ,depth and height of this pairs hate for Dhani , shows on one hand the determination Viplav has for bringing his wife Dhani into this household and on the other hand it shows the trust Dhani has in him of settling her in his family..
Raja takes a round to see the trophies and spoils of a big battle that he has just won!dhani waits for her one and only visitor her beloved Viplav .Then she is told she has a visitor her heart misses a beat its the dirty Raja rat. He scoffs her she expects Viplav but he's' here. he continues to make dirty passes at her. Blackmails yet again be his and only he and he alone has the power to set her free! Dhani as usual gives him the brush off and frustrated he tells the prison officer ,get her checked she's lost the plot! It seems in this scene that Raja Awasthi suffers from some mental health issues.. it's the things he says, the odd manner he looks at Dhani .. or is he trying it on in case he gets convicted he would fight his case on the grounds of mental health issues? .. thus leaves Raja awasti one girl he ruined and now behind bars
The other girl he has the power to ruin is still in her maternal bedroom , with a very sad and tearful big bro attempting to feed her. yes Viplav is deeply saddened to see his sister ,his mootu , with her hair dishevlleved .. she looks a state. He sits by her beside to tell her he loves her he wants her to eat. Tell me bro how far is Kanpur from here? would have had my entry into my new house by now.. why did Dhani do this to me bro?what did I do to her? why is this happening to me for the second time? Viplav looks at his sister helplessly .. but he feels he has to set things straight with her too..he explains , look Shalu ,Dhani has nothing against you.Why would she want to stop your marriage from happening? Because, Dhani has got a past with the Awasthi family. If Dhani says that Raja is a cheap boy. Then there must be some truth in it ,my child.. yes because she says so its right! sobs Shalu , before this everything was fine! Viplav wants her eat , here have something to eat Shalu , you have to believe me..shalu cries , I did believe , but what did I get in return, before all I lost my self respect! tell me bro whatever happened, where is my fault?? why am I getting punished? tell me ? what is my mistake? Shalu cries and asks her big bro. Viplav tearfully , looks at his baby sister, grabs her hand and kisses it, to make her better. If he could take away her pain he would, she pulls her hand from his and says leave her be! she can't understand anything? Shalu holds her head and weeps bitterly as she lets her head fall back on the bed stand and weeps.. just go please! leave! cries Shalu . Viplav heartbroken stands up and leans forward and kisses his sisters forehead ..and leaves..this scene has to be second of the finest I have seen of Viplav, no longer is he the naughty fun loving , happy go lucky Delhi boy ,or a guy madly in love with a simply widow.. yesterday he was a son to widow Dulari how he consoled her .Today he became the brother/cum father figure to his sister Shalu.. the pain he went through showed his strength as a man who believes in the guilty being punished and truth being up held. Seeing his sister in pieces may influence him to think about pulling his support for Dhani and putting it back in his sisters family.Shalu is blood, and blood is thicker than water..but knowing Viplav he will not knowingly give his sister over to people like the Awasthi's .For Viplav believes Dhani!
Outside his front door Viplav is swarmed by press about questions are fired at him about Dhani, the Awasthi's.. suddenly Raja arrives and shoos them away.. he might have set this up looks like it's to do with putting pressure on Viplav and Dhani through the press he tries to kill Viplav with kindness will pull charges back against Dhani.. to save their honour. Inside the house begs Dashrant Raja to marry Shalu for the sake of tirpathi name respectability.. he says he will take case back but Dhani still badmouths his family, This will be Raja's new ploy to put this family in situations where their respectability is at stake.. what will be in it for Raja? viplav turns up at the prison..
