IKRS Friday 5th February 2016 ep 156 My Take all good and ticking away fine!

As humans out of the humbug and monotony of daily lives we select and attribute certain days to celebrate , relationships , faith or social bonds. This may well be to either attach importance to ourselves or to others. But whatever the case may be, the notion is to share a landmark with our loved ones. One most common personalized occasion which may occur any time during the year is the day which marks ones entry into the world i.e. one's birthday day. The birthday person is made to feel special by friends, family and dear ones. The day itself is earmarked by a personalized birthday cake. Care is taken by loved ones , that the birthday person is showered with love and attention which manifests commonly in the form of presents.. and surprises. The episode has snippets of Dhani the birthday girl blessed by the greatest gift , people who love her..

Dhani looks with fascination, at the musical orb that holds a bride and groom in a snowstorm .. Surely a beautiful gift , but for this birthday the gods have gifted her love in the semblance of vakeel babu. he never fails to surprise me , turns up before me at the most unexpected hour, tickles me pink with things I never imagined he had in him.. like poetry.. muses Dhani and with a twinkle in her eye she challenges him to find out if he wrote those billet doux in verse? today was her birthday surely she deserves special treatment , Dhani muses, and suddenly she asks him , did he write those verses? he looks at her tenderly and decides he would pamper her today ,woo her today ,as opportune and appropriate is the time.. middle of the night ,her company , her birthday what could be better? So here's to you my love.. yes he admits, to writing them , for her.. and she rewards him with a smile and wants more, for she wants to feel good today! But he too loves to tease her and refuses, he can't be just turned on! into reciting verses, there's got to be a reason. She moans coquettishly and eggs him on , go on its her birthday today! Those big bold brown expanded looks from her , he's smashed! How can he refuse, so he tries.. ahem !when I saw you , I thought in the precinct of complaints , a new lodger has checked in! What is he saying she complains, don't like it! recite something else! Ok! he goes and shyly recites, I live in your heart, and the funny thing is I don't pay rent! Dhani giggles and he too chuckles and suddenly she becomes quiet and he turns her by the chin so she faces him, and peers into her eyes and recites meaningfully , being sad doesn't suit you.. don't snatch away light from me.. smile just this once.. he says feeling her cheek, so that once again I can swell with pride.. and he she interrupts and he says shhh.. by placing his finger gently on her lips, I haven't finished yet.. your presence lights up the world.. and my world is by you.. in your smile is my life , my every breath is by you.. Dhani smiles , and then looks up into his passionate eyes, she liked this poem the best.. because he wrote it especially for her... but then she snaps out of this tender moment and bides him to leave as his mother won't be too pleased to see him here at his time. He brushes her suggestion aside , he is not worried about his mother, he came to wish happy birthday to her...and that he will surely do , and he raises himself on his knees and leans towards her ,hoping to kiss her! Dhani... happy birthday and he bends his head towards her face and she props the glass orb between the tip of their noses! then shyly looks down, Ishq ,Ishq , Ishq Dhani steals impish looks at him as he waits expectantly propped up on his knees to steal a kiss... then with the glass orb between them they move their head and eyes playfully from side to side smiling ,light heartedly.. playing hide and seek as he waits to perhaps catch her out behind the orb!.. Rajlaxmi barges in! and Dhani is saved from having a kiss stolen by her lips! and Viplav moans three's a crowd! But Raj laxmi protests, are you going to keep her all to yourself? or can I wish her happy birthday too! and then Rajlaxmi hugs and kisses her and Viplav too comes forward keenly for his share ,but she says no! and he complains, why she gets to hug you! she gets to kiss you too and he can't even hug her? and Raj laxmi drags Dhani come on every body's waiting downstairs! The scene is interesting as firstly carries forward the notion that Dhani always manages to put up a partition ,a boundary between them! here too despite their closeness the bride and groom within a glass orb stays between them as a reminder that , physical closes between them should come between them once they are married and not before .The other point ,how the emotion of love fine tunes both the heart and the mind into flights of fancy and a person in love recites verses to express the intensity of love..

Downstairs all wait for the traditional cake cutting ceremony and Viplav lights the candle .. and in walks his mother from the side , like the shadow of doom and gloom at this happy occasion. Kanak of course makes her entry to steal the thunder from Dhani as viplav of course on seeing her goes up to her, embraces her and confesses, he'd almost forgotten she too is here! .. then the ceremony begins, Dhani closes her eyes and makes a wish ,as wishes can be granted this day, now blow the candle says viplav ! and he leads all in song. But vexed Kanak muses, sure celebrate your birthday as this will be the last birthday of your life! Dhani cuts the cake ..she offers it to her family . Viplav asks her, to offer a piece to his mother.. Dhani is wary , but then Kanak from her side wants to show Viplav that from her side she's fine ,its Dhani who is distant from. Dhani gives Kanak a bite and then its kanak's turn and when her son isn't watching she literally shoves the cake into Dhani s mouth with her finger.. and the side of Dhani s face catches a bit on her lip. Viplav of course is delighted to see how malleable and willing his mother and is loving to Dhani.. Viplav stretches the hateful ordeal for Kanak as he wants a photo.. two key women of his life one his two faced mother and the other his love..viplav then asks for his share as he's the one who bought the cake. Dhani is wary in showing affection towards him under the watchful eye of his mother. Inderani reckons they should be left alone ... and when all leave Viplav has a feed each other cake session, run ,grab and catch session with Dhani as he threatens to plaster her face with cake ,a traditional fun activity of cake cutting. Dhani resists and he tries to be huggy and touchy! But Dhani alerts him his mother is watching and he restrains his fun and romantic capers.. Dhani suggests he leaves.. kanak is not impressed and like a witch she watches them and tells them to anjoy!no need to be shy of her as see didn't really see anything, besides she going to bed and she begins to unfurl her bedding on the floor in the courtyard.. Viplav is alarmed to see his mother sleep out in the open and he asks Dhani did she know about this? Kanak is well pleased because she wants a falling out between them, but then Dhani explains she prepared the room for her but she wanted to sleep out here. Viplav has a go at Dhani about letting his mother sleep out in the cold.. after some argument Viplav rolls his mothers bed and takes it up to the room. Kanak carps silently. carry on swinging in Viplav's arms , you watch how I sort you out! But Dhani worries not as she muses , I know what you're trying to do chotti maalkan , but I too promise that at the end of the day I will win you over with my goodness..

Dadi sends food for the ashram and special ladoos for Dhani for her birthday. Viplav tells his mother's sleeping in the courtyard episode.. dashrant muses he knows what his mother is upto..her game is to separate Dhani from him. All seems to be good and congenial in Viplav's household. Shalu seems happy her brother stuffs a ladoo in her mouth.. he encourages a little indulgence for her, seeing the mother isn't around ,or is it showing more affection to his baby sister since Kanak isn't around.

Buying people over on the cheap..in her mission of exterminate Dhani Kanak now wants Rajlaxmi to team up with her against Dhani. She pulls her over to her side by giving Raj laxmi a pair of gold earrings. Raj laxmi of course accepts with a ,you're not that bad as I thought after all she says to kanak

Perchance she sees Viplav heading towards the ashram here was another ideal opportunity to paint Dhani in a bad light. This time she comes down the stairs and stops Dhani from sweeping the courtyard and literally snatches the broom from her and bids her to sit on the wooden divan and make gardens , Dhani does protest but.. to no avail Viplav flings open the ashram door and finds his mother vigorously sweeping the floor. Yes beta.. she calls out in a whiny voice.. Dhani stands up anxious and he bids her to hold her piece.. as he sees his mother slows down her sweeps. and he yells mother you do well! Raj's gran is more than eighty but she is so fit! as she sweeps her house every single day! If you take to sweeping the floor every day , all your body aches and pains will disappear and you'll feel fit and well! And you'll lose weight too! do carry on with it ! argues vilav and she looks at him crest fallen as her plan back fired!..much to Kanak's annoyance to Dhani he offers a ladoo says dadi's sent it for her! wants to feed her, Dhani glares at him .. and tells him he'd better leave she doesn't want him to stay.. and he says yes he only came to drop the food. Kanak now gets her own back at him . go now child.. he stalls , yes me going now.. and looks at Dhani shall I leave? Seuriously she nods.. as Kanak fumes at him..ok I am going.. he moves then stop and reels around but dadi said iam to feed you with my own hands Dhani protests, she'll eat it herself but he says be quiet! and open your mouth! then he feeds her and says its nice isn't and Kanak sizzles at her mad over Dhani son and fed she calls out Viplav go now!but he stalls have you got any work for me? and she begs him will you leave now!.. and before he leaves he whispers to Dhani he'll return in the evening with gifts for her ,sorry he forgot.. as soon as Viplav leaves, Kanak tells Dhani to sweep the floor and sits watching her in anger.. as for a gift Viplav my son , I'll be giving you one today.. that you'll remember for the rest of your life..

At home the sari and bangles trader brings his trade to the house , Viplav wants to buy more than one sari for Dhani.. he phones her to find out her favourite colour and she replies she'll wear what ever he brings for her..there is a lovely happy family time atmosphere noteworthy ,is it because the kill joy Kanak is not around..?

Back at the ashram Kanak all wound up to her neck with an over dose of Viplav Dhani lovey dovey scenes makes gujar ka hawla for Dhani s birthday and poisons one bowl..

I thought the episode gave me the impression that all's good and ticking away fine. There was a generous helping of romance , humour ,kanaks little skits to malign Dhani in viplav's eyes. There was a cordial atmosphere in Viplav's house..shambu's bereavement seemed to be fading away. Hamlet 53 6.2. 16
