IKRS 11th September 2015 ep.29.. My Take
Humans are created as social animals.. no man prefers to be an island , unless inspired by some higher being to do so, to receive some scriptures ,some knowledge that is beyond the comprehension of less enlightened. Popular faiths promote that we are created to further pro create. Hence we live in clusters, clans ,tribes and social systems. It goes back to our roots of being primates.. living in our circles, factions ,and units , that helps us to manage our lives, teaches us interdependence along with self- reliance. Which brings me to the interesting issue of how we live in our personal units.. well if we were to look at the way are life styles are grouped , the first most obvious one is living in pairs.. our parents , our husbands and wives come in this category.. the pair then culminates in extension in the form of off springs , siblings and grand parents.. A pair then is seen as a flourishing expanding tree that stems itself, from a pair and shapes into what we call are family . Living in a fraternity also indicates that as humans we interact in groups and with this comes dynamics which determines our behaviour with people who we deal with..
The first pair we come across in the episode is the young couple a man and a woman.. Viplav and Dhani once daggers drawn but presently a pleasant picture of congeniality. But this accord doesn't come about without certain adjustments to attitudes. Viplav has worked at interacting with Dhani in particular. We see Dhani with cupped palms catching rains drops... as we are creatures , that love to imitate and emulate others behaviour, especially when we want to appease and win someone over..This social skill Viplav too tries out when he imitates her action of catching raindrops in his palm briefly, quite simply to please and give Dhani value. Furthermore he uses sign language and mimes actions urging her to make a beeline for the car in the pouring rain, all to invoke and prompt smiles and laughter from Dhani. The car not only provides them refuge from the rain but also is their private enclosed space . The car also implies that a lot more could have happened between this inner city lad and the young innocent girl from Banaras but it didn't and brings Viplav;s integrity. He had mentality geared himself that he is protect this girl , from others and himself!
Stopped by a constable, for being alone with some girl in the car at some roadside.. but is let off the hook, due to him being the Viplav babu! It gives Viplav a chance to prove to Dhani, who he really is? some well known figure.. it makes Viplav appears smug and I worry is he going to become pompous and arrogant again?.. but it's done in pure relief as Dhani repeats, she wants to go home..
Another pair Dulari and badi amma .. are two widows who support each other in thick and thin invariably .Lights out at ashram symbolises Dulari, a mother outside her dwelling worried with a torch.. which means she lack of knowledge about her daughter's whereabouts and wants some light thrown on the issue of Dhani missing. She suggests , to head for police station.. Inderani reminds her Dhani is sensible not care less. So this pair agree upon Dhani's good sense and considerate nature. Inderani provides sound assistance to Dulari in this trying time ,as they both wait for Dhani , to clear the facts for them..
Group dynamics of society who gets on with whom ?makes cliques for ? The baffling pair.. Dashrant and Kanak ..one senior and the other given an unduly promotion in status. Although they baffle , they complement each other too in their manipulative ways Dashrant uses Kanak as the fly on the wall, who keeps an eye on all that goes on within the domestic empire. Here in the episode where he receives her gift of lassi.. she in turns give him vibes of where trouble may be brewing..Tania ,teaming up with the underdogs of the house .Dashrant goes and sees it for himself finds Tania chattering away to Dadi and shalini .. they were bonding regarding shalu's engagement shopping.. Tania making shopping plans with shlau! When dadi suggests she wear a sari it'll nice on her.. Tania plays on dadi's affection.. she knows about Viplav and his dadi's bond, so wants to be in dadi's good books to win Viplav? ...will you be my dadi? Tania asks and dadi too starved for affection says yes.. Dashrant glares at his wife and this girl Tania .. Kanak bends his ear about how Tania, is trying to fix herself in the house.. and Dashrant says ominously, now whatever happens will be what bole Nath wills? The lassi was very tasty.. it alerts him of a possible uprising..
The daring pair.. the scene is all about how Viplav wants to perhaps further show his possessiveness towards her. He is highly strung too, as this means the end of their brief journey of getting to know each other and clearing the air. Being a lawyer too ,perhaps fans his sense of arguing about issues ,especially those about which he feels strongly. Here he feels he's helped her, brought her home safely and she is ashamed to be caught out with him.. in case it happens. it is nothing like he has known before.. he hasn't come across young widows.. his own sister shalini is highly unlikely to be in such a situation.. so his words and dissent is all he will use to shall I say here as the last and important bit.. delay parting from her..
Viplav reaches the ashram Dhani says , stop here she 'll go from here.. she alights and he insists on accompanying her due to the darkness, she says no need ,but he rebuffs her, he'll drop her at the doorstep because if anything happens to her..people will blame him! and she states that he fails to realize.. try to understand.. if someone catches me with him , a new complication will arise.. he erupts why he was not a petty thief! and argues, he didn't abscond with her ? she came and sat in his car so why would there be an issue?. He can't see her issue, grabs her arm she says just go don't argue and he replies why would we argue ,explain to him why would this be an issue? What is the problem of him dropping her off at the ashram , he is decent enough don't see what'll happen if someone sees her in the middle of the night? come taking you.. he shows he is determined if someone sees them so what? he can challenge and she calls him an over grown kid and walks off and he complains who are you calling a kid? I can hear! mamma! and ..
The nail.. a spike, a tack a fastener made of metal.. has to be tough as it receives a hammering.. a nail is used to bind and join materials..here we have a sticking out nail that catches on to objects and can cause injure to both humans and other living beings. The stuck out nail here reminds me of age old decadent traditions linked to the way and tough lifestyles of widows.. the nail is crooked ,warped but tough , and catches on to Dhani's white sari.. so badly does her sari get caught , that when she tries to free herself ,it winds around the crooked nail. Viplav helps her and very nearly sets her free when suddenly he is interrupted in the act. Dhani startles by the torch light and runs ahead leaving behind a small piece of her ripped white sari stuck on the nail, Viplav pulls it and hides it behind his back.. he plans to pull out the nail.. of age old traditions that robs the life to live from widows..
Dhani's sari gets stuck on a nail and winds around it and she nearly trips.. he helps to release it shall I help .. move out of way! her wet long hair brushes past his face as he tries to unwind her sari from the nail.. Dulari and Inderani,come and shine the torch and he goes who is it? stop shining the torch...the truth is revealed! Dhani runs, as he moves, Dulari scream! a piece of Dhani 's sari tears and stays on the nail , Viplav hides it behind him and muses.. what great timing.. today you'll get it! Dulari pulls Dhani's ear and scolds will give you a slap where have you been? Inderani notices him and asks , you? what were you doing with Dhani? Dhani yells it's not how it looks! he says look I apologize for both of us , but why are you puling her ear.. dulari glares at him! and Dhani looks at him.. and he says no..good ahead pull it as you like but will you let us know her fault ,I was only realising her sari from being torn she got out of the car !that shocked Dulari fromm the car.?? where were you going and he says to come home , you all react and tell her off all the time.. Dhani says , you go , and to her mother lets go home I'll tell you everything hey you.! I helped you.. what I owed you from the past is balanced now, so we both are squares now with each other! nothing is overdue. Viplav speaks language of business, she says thanks for helping me ,now you may leave.. and he looks at her in disappointment.. what more did he want? did he regret it was short and over and done with? they both turn and go their ways.. symbolic that probably they won't meet again.. he moans again.. she showed me her anger as if it was all my fault? did I ask her to sit in my car? got the tyre punctured? made it rain? Viplav goes through the sequence of events.. her frigidity and distance towards him unhinges him.. he feels like a rejected lover.. after all that he did for her... he... turns to look at her before he drives off but she has her back as she follows her mum and Inderani.. but she turns when he drives off.. she notices his jacket near the sticking out nail and she runs to it! The jacket.. a comforter.. a reminder of being loved and cared for.. Dhani takes it home with her
Viplav reaches his front door ,gets a phone call..does' nt take it.. puts his mask on..the devil returns home but doesn't wish to be recognized. It was his grandad, who pulls off his mask and says the devil!.. he says it's usually dadi who opens the door and dash says I couldn't sleep either why so late especially you have a guest, viplav was about tell dash the truth abiut why late but decides to hide as he assured his grandad he would have nothing to do with the widows. Viplav lies it was his friends birthday.. he said stay the night but I said no.. he yawns and both good to bed he gives his dadi an ardent hug and kiss
Notice Viplav lies to Dashrant about where he was? is Dhani forbidden fruit then? Dhani doesn't lie.. she tells it as it was..and due to Dhani's account.. Dulari acknowledges the way Viplav protected Dhani and declares she misunderstood.. him he is a good lad..
Dhani gives a verbal account of the what happened explained why she rode Viplav's car... Dulari says thanks to god and also says the way this boy whom I misjudged took care of you forces me to say he is a good boy.. Dhani has FB about how Viplav took beats upon himself when her life was in danger during the ashram siege..then in the roadside incident he protected her .. she talks fondly to his jacket fed up of returning this raskhsas things.. he keep forgetting his things here first the watch now this jacket.. don't know when I'll get rid of him? she has FB of him putting his jacket on her shoulders .. and smiles... Viplav tooo recalls her smiles and falls back on his bed musing about Dhani..
Mismatched pair..Kanak wants to use Shambu to help her to kick Tania out of the house,. he says viplav should marry that girl whom he likes.. but Kanak decides Tania is not the girl for Viplav
Friendly pair, working pair.. Tania Viplav scene , half asleep he tells her was with Dhani.. she finds it hard to believe he tells her why? Kanak barges in and wants her out of his room ... and says Tania should help in kitchen.. but she refuses and says were going sightseeing.. Tania not the type to be subordinate to Kanak.. Viplav's friends arrive and Dashrant in his inimitable gets to know the truth about where and with whom Viplav was with last night... Raj blurts out the truth that Viplav withheld from Dashrant and says.. what is this widow's motive? now is this widow stuck or is she trying to get Viplav stuck..
I actually liked this episode.. there was some sadness in my heart.. their journey.. ended without a see you.. traaa.. latersss.. waise its great to see sweet dhani in love.. i like the lardki.. saach bolte hai.. and as for viplav.. chalu hai.. bhaut ghumta hai.. .. he'll ghumaioo tania..😆.. it'll be fun if dhani ghat pe mil jaye.. tarun food for thought.. love hammie
