IKRS ~ 13th August episode 4 My Take

I would like to clarify that these are my personal thoughts , and are based entirely upon the viewing of this programme and in no way are meant to show irreverence to any one's faith, culture or nationality..

I would say then that today's episode exposes certain social issues that have a bearing on how society treat's people prevalent within itself.. it may be an issue of governance, good, satisfactory or poor. you decide..

Today's episode brings out issues of pack mentality.. How people operate in their designated units. The police from top to bottom ranks , appointed custodians of the law dance to the tunes of the ruling elitist class. You then have the unit of the subservient , denounced class, of a unit of widows who fight for their right to be heard and treated according to the dictates set by the law.. innocent till proven guilty. Then you get to witness the witch hunt of Dhani by a pack of men who are the defenders of the faith! It' men who pass judgment on Dhani's so called crime! and that too without a fair trial! Such is the power and frenzy of a mob.. that it makes one lose one's powers of reasoning.. this happens in a common cause.. which in Dhani's case is.. that as a widow she defiles the temple! yet .. what comes out of the mouths of the devotees are acts that desecrates humans ! but alas! the power of the frenzied mob..

The episode also highlights corruption within society, community, even within the boundaries of sacred areas, the police force. We see how the police force covers up for the rich and powerful.. They are beyond the law, to carry out atrocities against the weak, as long as the stout hand of the law protects their wrong doings. We also see religious status being challenged by the head of the widows refuge, in the police station.. when questions are raised about the hypocrisy and dishonesty of religious leaders..

Regarding the animated Viplav he is intrepid! The question that comes to my mind does this over grown child rolled into manhood, fear anything? family wrath, faith, values, tradition?? Seemingly not.. but I reckon the only thing he does fear is being a loser! that he is told being in the wrong. I wonder does he fear himself? as a change within himself may pose a challenge for him. For change causes upheaval, uproots, kneads, disfigures, till it makes a difference to what was before! so for now Viplav is set in his ways, comfortable and anything that is sombre and restricts his easy come what may life is all to much for him.. Well one thing for sure is evident that he certainly doesn't fear the law.. why should he ? he is the elite ruling class. Runs in the family... Hamlet53.. 13.8.15
