Since I have never done the job before, my first thought was that I will have to work hard. I have now realized that hosting is totally different from acting, as when you are acting the camera does not really exist for you but when you are hosting you have to speak facing the camera.
In the beginning, I found it difficult to look into the camera and talk, so the first day was tough. Now, I am used to it and I am comfortable hosting the show. The channel and production house are good people and they have been nice and patient with me.
Chang is like my brother. He is very down to earth. The best thing about our jodi is that we never try to cut each others lines or intrude into each others space. I feel very comfortable working with him.
Kirronji is a warm person, Sonali is of my age, so we have a good rapport and Dharamji is like a father so we call him Naram Dharam. After the shoot, everyone gets busy with their own lives so we don't get to spend much time together but I enjoy spending whatever time I get with them.
There were this kids who performed salsa, then there was a painter who also did a Gabbar act, both these were really impressive. In the upcoming episodes you will see a group performing hip-hop with a mix of some other dance forms and their energy is amazing. The judges surely have a tough job.
Chang and I do masti all the time so every moment is fun. Some acts are really good so we enjoy watching them and have fun. Then there are some really pathetic acts which are even more fun to watch (laughs). Some acts make us laugh our guts out.
I will accept any good work be it a daily soap, reality show or movie. Quality work and good money is what matters to me. All these forms of entertainment are co-related so the medium does not matter. When it comes to work I believe, never say never.
I don't watch much TV, in fact sometimes I don't even get to watch my own show, so I record it so I can watch my performance and notice where I have to improve. My parents watch Bade Acche Laggte Hai and I join them sometimes and it is a good show so I enjoy it.
