Rain affected matches

Poll Three

If overs are reduced in the middle of the match - no one will be awarded points for total runs and total extras. No change in every other category

------------------------------

I don't understand this... it's clearly not a level playing field at all.

In a rain-affected match, if one team gets 20 overs to bat and the other only 6, then according to the new rule, we won't get total runs points bcoz we selected a particular option for runs thinking it would be a 40-over match, right?

Then why isn't this logic being applied to batsmen and bowlers as well?

One bowler in the first innings gets 4 overs to bowl, while the other in the second innings gets only one... means both don’t get an equal opportunity to take wickets.

Barring the POTM category, our chosen ones who bat and bowl first, will have a much better chance of emerging as winners even before the start of the reduced 6-over second innings.

I know the new rules have already been finalized, but this one doesn't seem fair to me.

As you know very well, it was defined earlier.

Check the Match 44 between KKR vs PBKS, they played first innings, and scored 205 runs, but there was no second innings. That is why, we gave only toss points.

If the overs reduced before the match start, due to rain, then members will be very much aware of the number of overs before the match starts, and they will predict accordingly.

If the overs reduced after the first innings start, then it is not fair to give points to any category. That is why, we said, we will give only toss points in that case.

Please note this. Thanks for bringing this into our notice.

World record by jaiswal

New Delhi: Yashasvi Jaiswal's strong recent performances for the Rajasthan Royals, including scores of 75, 51, 74, and 49 in his last four innings, have contrasted with the team's overall struggles. Despite his consistent batting, lack of support from other Rajasthan Royals players has led to five consecutive defeats for the team.

Note:

Common in this format but happen regularly in test matches

Toss points?

I should get 10 points instead zero.

Sorry, but I still don't get it

Plz, explain this second point of Savera's post.

What does, No change in every other category mean, here

-Sunhine, I understand where you are coming from. Various scenarios can take place if a match is affected by rain.

Either a match gets abandoned or both teams play shortened version of the match and other scenarios in between. The above rule applies if a match is shortened for both teams after the match has started.

Rest assured, we will certainly address other scenarios when we are presented with them like the one you have mentioned.

Cheers..

Madhu, Sunshine is talking about one team playing 20 overs and the other only 5 overs when rain interrupts only the second innings.

I explained what it meant.

Cheers..

See, we're setting the rules while considering all other options. What Savera has defined is correct; she did so after gathering all the opinions on the pertinent issues and problems, through polls. Please read all three poll results once again. She worked quite hard while defining the rules. And as we all know, whenever a new problem/ confusion arises, we will try to solve/ resolve/ sort out it after discussing and consulting our administrator and members. smiley1

I was confused abt why you said, 'No change in every other category,' if the number of overs is reduced in the middle of the match.

If both teams do not get to play an equal number of overs with the bat and ball, then in that case.. toss, winning team, margin of victory, and POTM points will be awarded only

I understand and fully respect the hard work Savera has put in while resetting the rules.

I got confused when she said, 'No change in every other category,' for a match where the overs were reduced "in the middle of an innings".

That’s clearly a case of not having a level playing field for all players

Just asking.. whats the point of tagging me, when you're already quoting my post..

Notification tou mil gaya na quoting se smiley5
