Pitch report | Ian Bishop and Matthew Hayden:Different pitch to the Qualifier. 61 meters on one side, 68 on the other, and 73 down the ground. Very similar to the pitch yesterday. It's quite dry, extremely firm, maybe has a bit more grass cover. Last night was in contrast to what the groundsmen had informed us that there wasn't going to be dew. In my opinion it dramatically affected the game last night. It's currently 43 degrees. The water in this wicket is something the groundsmen have had to control because of the heat. Last night remember, early up, there was a little bit of seam movement and little bit of swing. Otherwise, this wicket was high scoring in the group stage.

It is time for the IPL 2024 Eliminator, and what a contest it promises to be! Two teams who have had almost polar opposite trajectories this season. Two teams you'd not have expected in the Eliminator, for very different reasons. RCB had one win in their first eight matches, and they looked down and dusted. But, after nearly pulling off two improbable chases, they started to click, and how, and come into this match with all the momentum of six consecutive big wins behind them. Rajasthan Royals looked set to finish as the table-toppers at around the halfway mark of the league stage, and were shoo-ins for Qualifier 1. But the season soon deteriorated for them, as they slumped to five defeats on the trot, and a washout. On the surface, RCB look like favourites, but in T20 cricket, form can be a very fickle thing. And unlike yesterday's match, losing today means it is the end of the road in the competition. Hello, I am Abhimanyu Bose, and along with S Sudarshanan, I'll be bringing you all the action from Ahmedabad's Motera tonight!

When Virat Kohli scored a century the last time these two teams met, Sandeep Sharma was out with injury. Sandeep has got Kohli out seven times in 15 T20s, and may prove to be a tough test for the RCB opener.

Many things have fallen in place for RCB to fuel their phenomenal comeback in this tournament. One of them has been Kohli's sensational run at the top. Not only is he scoring runs, he's scoring them at a rapid rate. His powerplay strike rate of 187 in the last eight innings, and a tally of 37 sixes for the season - most by any player - underline how crucial his wicket at the top is going to be.

It's going to be talked about a bit more as we build up to it, but I suppose RCB's sensational comeback is worthy of the chatter. Al Muthu takes a deep dive into their catharsis, and it has a Galactico twist to it as well!

Sunny: "Can see everyone has written-off team RR after their 4 back to back defeats. I still believe RR are the best bowling side. If Boult repeats what Starc did yesterday, then RR have an upper hand. "

6.40 Should Ashwin be used in the powerplay - with both ball and bat? And will RCB save Siraj for Samson? Sid Monga goes through matchups and strategies to watch out for in his tactics board.
