First innings done and the Gujarat Giants will be pretty happy with this performance. They got a nice early cameo from Sophie Dunkley, who took on Sophie Devine in the powerplay. The Kiwi all-rounder however had the last laugh as he cleaned up the English batter. S Meghana was given a promotion, and while she was slow to start she made good after getting her eye in. She added a partnership of 63 with Laura Wolvaardt, who continued her fine form, before being stumped trying to attack Preeti Bose. Wolvaardt continued to attack though, as Ash Gardner started playing a few big shots as well. Wolvaardt got to fifty, and was looking good was a huge score but RCB's death overs specalist Shreyanka Patil came in and dismissed both the set batters off successive overs. It felt like that would peg back the score, but Harleen Deol and Hemalatha managed solid cameos in the final over to help Gujarat finish strong on 188. A daunting target but the pitch is playing well. Let's see how RCB respond...
