Can GT match the run rate from ball one?

Cheers..

It is an imposing target to win, any team will be demoralized seeing the huge score on the board.

Excellent batting display by Mumbai Indian women. 👍🏼

Matthews and Sciver-Brunt were in their elements and batted brilliantly. They got their side off to a good start in the powerplay. Wareham got the better of the latter and right after that, Matthews also missed out on a fifty.

The real carnage came after the 10th over. Kaur was on a rampage from the get go and send the bowlers to the cleaners to all parts of the ground. She was well supported by Kerr who played a brilliant innings herself.

Oh what a batting performance. Simply outstanding. The last ten overs produced 130 runs and Mumbai Indians will be delighted with this score. But the pitch looks a beautiful surface for batting, so there's always a chance for Gujarat Giants to chase this down, but with scoreboard pressure now coming into play, the task will be tough.

It all started with Hayley Matthews, who picked up the Mumbai recovery after Yastika Bhatia fell early. She made 47 in 31 balls. After that, Harmanpreet and Kaur put on a partnership to remember. Kerr quietly got the runs with Harmanpreet put on an assault with kindness. After Harmanpreet fell following her fifty, Kerr put the finishing touches with Pooja Vastrakar.

"Really good wicket," Matthews says. "The pace is coming on good. We reckon we had to get about 160-180, but we'll be happy with 207. (Dew) Not necessarily. There might be some coming about. (Track for offspinners?) Maybe a bit tough. We need to keep their run rate going up."

A forgettable day for the Gujarat Giants bowlers and fielders. You have to think the Aussies in the Gujarat set up will have to lead from the front in the second innings. Advantage Mumbai going into the break. Abhimanyu will join you on the other side.

Beth Mooney is off the field with an injury. Hope she will recover soon.

Has Mooney twisted her ankle while turning back? She looks to be in pain, she actually turned it over as she set-off, has called for the physio and the Gujarat Giants skipper certainly looks uncomfortable. She's walking off, this is a big blow for the team, the captain and the best batter of the team, they'd hope it's nothing serious
