Another arjun draupadi admirer...😆.Welcome in this small family of the fateful evening n i couldnt help but quote u bcoz of ur excellence in pouring ur feeling n u r correct in every word... Cause we all feel the same...really powerful ur expressions were...Hi Lakshmi,
I found this forum while searching for various interesting stories/incidents related to Mahabharat.Let me congratulate you on writing such a marvelous piece and in particular writing it from Draupadi's point of view. I have been hooked to this story from last few weeks, since I found this forum. You have great writing skills and capacity to unravel emotions and induct nice subtleties and humor at various junctures, which makes it highly pleasurable to read.I would request you to continue this thread and continue to induct some more new stories/angles, reminiscent some past stories and interweave them, just to keep the thread going:) . As, this has been a wonderful thread to read.I think this has a very good potential to be a very popular book, if published. So, may be you can think on those lines, sometime in future. This deserves to be read by wide audience to understand Mahabharat from Draupadi's point of view and beautiful relationship of Arjun and Draupadi.I have always admired Arjun and has always been my hero. A great warrior, compassionate and kind human being. Above all, the favourite of the Lord himself. I bought several books on Arjun, like Sweety Shinde's "Arjun: Without Doubt", which I regard as one of the most outstanding books I read on Arjun. The only instances, where I find it difficult to understand and forgive my hero are, when he did not refuse the pathetic decision of "sharing" pronounced by Kunti/Yudhi, And, being silent during the shameful Dyut Sabha instance. I have read your thread on why Arjun had to be silent, because it was understood at that time, to be norm to oblige to elders and refusing them was considered sinful. Still, whatever it may be, only these two incidents make me hurt, when I think of my hero's failure to stand-up and deliver. The thread gives beautiful perspective of Draupadi's feelings/trauma, and the immense pain she had to undergo due to the decision made by Kunti/Yudhi duo. I always felt this was really a cruel decision which sealed the fate of the innocent woman. Both, Kunti/Yudhi can never be pardoned for their shameful decision. Your thread has beautifully highlighted the trauma she had to undergo and how truly it is not possible to "Love equally all the husbands". I mean come on, polyandry itself was such a rare instance and ancient practice, wherein Yudhi had to go back so far in time, to rattle couple of examples and try to cover his lusty feelings for the most beautiful woman. And on top of that, Kunti saying "Love all my sons equally".Also, coming to Kunti, never felt her to be pure like Gandhari. Destroyed the life of Karna and how cruel it was to throw your child off, to just save your honor. I always felt her to be very calculative and cold, otherwise who will propose to share a wife of one son to retain unity amongst brothers. I mean come on, her upbringing is such, that she didn't have confidence that her other sons will have "Buri Nazar" on the wife of another brother and will fight due to lust factor. I mean, if is this what she felt, then truly she failed in her upbringing and did not instill moral values in her sons. Coming to Yudhi, another character in Mahabharat for whom I have only disgust, such a powerless individual, who never had true royal quality of valor. Never led any battle from the front, never achieved anything out of his own valor. Always had to rely on his great warrior brothers Bheem/Arjun, for achieving victories on the battlefront. Like he was non-playing captain, if you talk of sports. Was addicted to gambling, and lusted for his brother's wife. What a pathetic individual...Please post regular updates :)Regards,Indra
hehe... Same with me😛... I have always been an arjun krishna admirer but after reading this awesome piece of work i connected myself instantly with draupadi's pain n this help those who don't admire these two characters to understand their lifetime sufferings...Thanks Divu55 😊. Yes, reading this thread has opened up new perspective for me from Draupadi's point of view. Earlier, I was more of an Arjun/Krishna admirer but after reading this thread one more is added to the list: ). Collected various books related to Arjun, always felt, how one could be so humble despite of having everything, he always fascinated me.
But, this thread, has been a revelation for me and I more or less, feel like these must have been true feelings of Draupadi as well. Felt connected to the characters and the story telling was simply awesome.
