First of nice thread girls. I will be more active after my mid terms get over by 28th of August.
But, this thread was much needed, We only know abt Rumini Krishna mainly or Radha Krishna, no other queens are given more screen space, when they show Krishna story, and if they are, their stories are not much shown. Since ages we have only seen only 3 queens of Krishna Rukmini,Jambvanti and Satya, no other queens are shown. Thats sad, even Satya is mostly taken wrong by people. So you girls are doing a fabulous job by illuminating us more abt krishna's other queens👏

Oh, and she also asked that if Mahalakshmi could be born in many houses, then why couldn't Maha Vishnu also take multiple avatars, so that each of his avatars could marry each of Mahalakshmi's avatars, and thus his teachings about monogamy could be preserved also.

Yes Mahalakshmi did take birth in many houses, simply because people had done severe prayers and taasya to have Mahalakshami as daughter. But for Krishna only Vasudev-Devki did tapasya to get him as a son. Even I read some where that Ma Yashoda and Nand Baba also asked Mahavishnu that they cud nurture them as a kid, and not give him birth. It was only vasudev Devki who asked him to take birth as their son.
In treta yug, since two ppl wanted Mahavishnu to have him as their son so he incarnated him as ParashuRam and Ram. But in Dwaparyug, no one asked except for Vasudev Devki.
And after those innocent girls were captiated in Narakasur's kingdom, no one wud have married those gals, and their life wud b hell. So Krishna decided to marry them. Since he had no option left, and no other avtaars were their so it was his sole responsibility to marry all forms of Mahalaxmi because, as Mahavishnu how cud he let his own wives let marry other men, or how cud he let others pin point fingers on them. So he married every single Mahalakshmi😊

Since the discussion cropped up a few pages earlier about "Who do you think was the most (insert characteristic here) wife among the eight?" I am posting the link to the 83rd chapter of Srimad Bhagavatam here: http://www.vedabase.com/en/sb/10/83
In this Draupadi asks each of Krsna's queens about their marriage, and all eight queens, followed by Rohini (the leader of the 16100 queens) relate their experiences to her.

I feel that by reading what each of them say, we can understand their character and relationship with the other queens.

I read a very interesting take on Radha and the Gopis. If you look closely along with Radha, Krishna is surrounded by nine Gopis. Each represent a 'ras' or 'bhav' in human life. Ranging from anger to calm and love to lust. It is a very interesting concept in reality. These Gopis apparently aren't simply the women partners of Krishna but the emotions on goes through in their life times.

While Radha and Krishna represent the body and soul.

Ok, so coming back to the ashtabharya, besides Rukmini and Satyabhama (who are most people's favorites) with which bharya do each of you relate with the most, or you like the most?

To think of it, I guess it's Kalindi for me. I've always been fascinated by tapaswinis; like, Vedavati, Arundhati(?) etc. So, that, and remember, how she kind of directly approached Krishna (through Arjun yes, but more actively than Rukmini)? And that was something none of the others did! 😃
For Rukmini, it was like, either he comes or she dies, but Kalindi (most probably a side-effect of being Yamuna's direct incarnation) was much, much more confident in her approach.
That's just my view, though! 😳
