Who was taraka really? I mean was she a shrapit apsaras? In AS Ramayana they showed that she changed into a pretty lady after dying.

She was a beautiful yaksha Princess Nandini who is being turned to demoness by the Curse of Maharishi Agaystha.

She wss the Wife of Sumali means the Grandmother of Ravana 😊 Sumali use to annoy and kill Sages everywhere so Maharishi Agaystha cursed him to death. Tadaka being highly grieved with the death of her husband revenged Maharishi agaystha by killing and eating many of the sages. At that time Agaystha cursed her that she will turn to a cruel demonic creature and will loss all her beauty! Tadaka remained in that Demonic form for more than thousands of years till when Rama came to liberate her :)
