The grand annual celebration of Durga Puja organized by North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity saw over 25,000 devotees visiting the pandal at Hotel Tulip Star, Juhu. The new venue is open to all for the deity's blessings. Ensuring the convenience of the numerous devotees visiting the pandal, the trust decided to shift to a new, better and bigger location which provides the devotees with better infrastructural facilities such as a pleasant location overlooking the Juhu Beach, easy accessibility to the venue for all the devotees, abundant car parking space and a luxurious pandal with better security and washroom facilities. The Puja was being streamed live on www.northbombaydurgapuja.com.

Every year, the pandal is visited by famous personalities from the Bollywood fraternity and this year was no different with the likes of Nana Patekar, Kailash Kher and Shreya Goshal visiting the venue. The evening of Novomi (22nd Oct) saw an extravagant performance by Kailash Kher and his band which entertained the audience with their famous chart topping numbers.

All the added pics here are so nice - especially I am loving the one of Gurmeet and Debina at the puja. Debina touches the devimaiya so lovingly. I think it is right ki Debina is from Kolkata hai na - where they are having such grand Durgapuja during navratri - it is nice they can find group in Mumbai to do the puja so she would not be homesick. Remember the lovely newspaper pics from Ramayan times when they went to her home area to do puja - so beautiful. Whether it is pandal or mandir or gurgwara or masjid it is always so beautiful to see people in the paces of prayer hai na?
