^^ Yeah, the portrayal of a mother's love is all well in mythos, it's just those occasional dialogues characters sometimes say, proclaiming that a mother's love is greater than a father's, which I find totally wrong. The different ways mothers and fathers love their children are all equally beautiful, but neither is greater and no show or movie should portray it to be. Like Lola mentioned in her post, our society tends to generalize mothers as superior to fathers, and we can see this evident in the way mothers almost always get custody of children in divorce cases, and when a child has been kidnapped or killed, the fathers are suspected before mothers. It is their unfair and highly biased outlook that I believe should be changed, though I know it will take a long time, if at all it happens.

Relating the above theory with your topic of father & mother, both would love their child but there will be difference in approaches. Mother's care will be in the nature of worry more about child's physical safety and happiness. Father's care will be in the nature of worry more about child's abilities and virtues or virtuous aims. Mother will understand more child's pains & sorrows. Father will understand more child's philosophies, thoughts & aims.

Father will be constantly looking at child's fame and achievements and not at his/her struggle for it. Mother worries about outcomes in child's life. Father worries about the foundation of those outcomes laid down in child's life. Mother takes pain of child. Father prepares child to fight with the pain.

How beautifully you have expressed this Shivang, and how true !!! Especially your last line is awesome.
