Sonali to judge Indian Idol 4

Indian Idol, one of the most popular shows on Indian television, is geared up for its fourth season with Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar on the hot seats as judges once again. But what is different this season is the inclusion of two new judges in the panel, the gorgeous Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre and the popular singer Kailash Kher.

Sonali who is not eager to comeback to films now says, "Films require commitment and I don't have the time. I am a mother and a homemaker and it is a full-time job. I agreed to this show as it'll be a short affair."
Talking about auditions, she says, "Even though I am not a singer, I am very fond of music and I think being a listener is more important than being a judge. I hope to see amazing talents on the show soon."

The new panel of judges is quite excited and enthusiastic about the various changes that have been brought about in the show. Javed Akhtar, one of the oldest names associated with Indian Idol, says, "We are extra cautious this time. Since it is a singing contest to search for extremely talented singers, we are looking for only a few specific qualities among the contenders. The auditions this time are also being held in smaller cities. The standard has risen compared to the last three seasons and the competition this time will be very tough." Anu Malik, says, "I have discovered some amazing talent. We are hunting for some extraordinary voices and I am glad to say that smaller cities in India have much more to offer."
