I was just thinking....

Do people really indian Idol to get fame ?

I mean we have Amit Tandon...

He's doing GREAT as a actor. Bet he gets paid more than Abhijeet Sawant.

Then there's Karunya who just released a new album and I'm sure its to be a hit. Sandeep...Where'd he go? I haven't heard of him in awhile.

And now Deepali since she just got eliminated but her and Amit are going to perform with A.R. Rehman.

I'm sure she's going places.

so do people really Indian Idol for fame?😕

in the end, all that matters is talent.

Amit Tandon was talented, if not in singing then acting, so Ekta spotted him from II for KYPH and he earned fame and success.

Karunya, Amey and others in II2 were much more taltented than Sandeep. Even though he took away the Indian Idol title, all he got was that 1 ablum promised to the winner by sony bmg. After that, no one knows him or cares about him. people voted for him and he was able to win some singing competition, but that wont get him success in life. you need talent for that. Both Karunya and Amey have been more successful in their musical careers.

now, getting to idol3, deepali (one of the best singers in the comp. ever) was eliminated due to lack of votes. but, no one can deny her talent. the opportunity to perform with A.R Rahman, and above that, she was personally picked by him is something deepali has over whoever wins the title. Of the remaining 6, the only ones I can see actually becoming playback singers are puja, amit and emon. ankita, chang and prashat and just a hype and as soon as the show is over (or they are eliminated) they wil be forgotten, chang will go back to being a dentist, prashant will go back to being a policeman and ankita will audition for boogie woogie 😆, they will become a face in the crowd, a nobody. Right now, its deepali, in the future, if amit, emon or puja re eliminated, they will still have their talent to hepl them succeed.

in short, yea contestants come to indian idol hoping to win the title and everything attached with it. But the truth is that most reality show winners dont make it far, unless the have genuine talent. of course indian idol changes the contestants' lives. whether they win or lose, they have been noticed by many, even music directors who might employ them in the future. so in that sense it does give them a platform to show off their talent. even if the most deserving doesnt win, we all know the talented ones will be successful even after the show is over. use deepali for example. we all know her and appreciate her singing talent because of indian idol. if she hadnt entered the competition, we wouldnt have known who she was or how talented she was. her elimination from the show hasnt caused a deadend in her music career, it has in fact opened many more doors

I completely agree. Like Farah said last year, only talent will take you places. You might be lucky today, but might not be lucky tomorrow.

He was Preetvi in KYPH. He was a contetsant on II 1.

Anywyas....

I was thinking thatecause it seemed like it.

If you have talent then I don't think you really need it. I think this pltform just puts the contestants out there so people will notice them.

I mainly started this thread because of how Deepali just got out and now is doing a concert with A.r. And Amit so this is just a start for her. I'm sure she'll go places because she CAN sing. 😃

I doubt Ankita would have been in her shoes if she got voted out.

But still I don't think II is needed alot.

If you have talent and you put your selves out htere you can do someething.

This platform is useful in one way....

TO get contetsants known.

But otherwise I don' tthink you necessarily need to win.😊
