Javed Akhtar's is not only penning lyrics for a children's music album for the first time, he has also gone ahead and rapped for it.
The yet-to-be-released album called 'Hip Hip Hurray' is dedicated to kids and completely different from what he's done in a while.
"The album's music director, Nishit Mehta, called me to the studio and I discovered he wanted me to sing. I was a little closed about it initially, but then realised it might be fun," laughs Javed. "It was a blend of rap and narrative and I must say, I enjoyed it. When I wrote these songs, I gathered all the innocence in my system, shed all inhibitions and rediscovered the child in me."
