Thanks Vijey. They need to learn a thing or two about attitude from Qazi if they really wanna win this sort of competition.

Qazi never got sympathy votes. We simply loved his +ve attitude and voted for him. He was surrounded by some impeccable talent in the form of Arijit, Ruppu, Shamit, Anubhav, Mona, Kirti, Arpita yet he did not bog down. If he would not have shown drastic improvement in his singing I would not have continued voting for him. It was his resolve to excel that got him votes and certainly not sympathy.

I didn't say that Qazi got sympathy votes. I was replying to Ani's post which I have highlighted now. But I do still maintain that majority in reality shows means that a group of people were more consistent in sending SMS. Good for Qazi. It doesn't mean whole of India supported the winner, be it any winner.

Personally I don't give much importance to which state contestants belong or their looks. They need confidence but they should also sing extremely well if it is a singling talent show and I never liked Qazi. I think we are deviating from the actual issue again. It is sad that militants are still having their say in what Kashmiris should or shouldn't do. When will there be peace in the subcontinent?

Our movies and music are some of the things that bind us together as Indians...and there is cricket too...the reason why militants are making this an issue is obvious and it is pretty sad!

very well said Manju.I am so sad to see that even after reading that how difficult the life of the youth in Kashmir is,people are making fun of a young lad who tried to make a difference,to be a symbol of courage to the youth of Kashmir .He is someone who can tell them that they can still smell roses amidst the guns in Kashmir.Atleast Qazi gave the sony channel the courage to venture into a troubled state and look for talent over there,we should be proud of him rather than making fun of him.

Go Qazi, atta boy,i am proud of you and what u represent to the youth of ur state👏👏I hope they have many more like u.

Its easy for us to make fun of him sitting here in our safe haven but try making something of ourselves surrounded by the militants deserves a round of applause peole👏U know what he brings to the people over there ,he brings them HOPE something that they really need.

Thanks Anita. Lets pray for peace in Kashmir. We should also appreciate the efforts of Alva brothers(Miditech), producers & owners of Indian Idol format. They seem pretty adventurous - having the guts to venture out and scout the talent in the disturbed region.

You are entitled to your opinion and I respect it. However I shall stick to mine that he's the only reality show winner who had the whole country stood as one behind him. He's the only one who was able to transcend the regional, religion, age, language barriers and come out as a true winner.

I agree with you that we kinda wavered from the actual topic. Hope the youth of J&K defy the militants diktat and take part in the auditions without any fear. The producers too should provide them with adequate security.

Maya ,this thread was not about qazi's singing ,it was about the youth of Kashmir being denied their basic rights because of militancy in the state and that is why i objected when people brought qazi's singing in this.Qazi is just not a singer from J&K ,he is their hope,if he could do it so can others.

Of course we are all free to have our own choices and criticise their singing skill or whatever but that should be done in the right perspective,i have no objection to that.My point was atleast don't do it here.I hope i made myself clear.

As far as choosing a winner by voting,in none of the reality shows the whole of India supports the winner otherwise the winner would get 100% votes, the same is true for qazi also but i think Qazi is the only winner who made a clean sweep as far as the votes were concerned.I love qazi because of his singing and for what he is and i am not a teenager,u know that.😆So its not the teenagers its people from all ages who love him, this guy must be having something in him then.
