DON'T RELY ON ORKUT 2 MUCH!(IQBAL KHAN)

Iqbal Khan isn't particularly tech savvy and hardly ever uses the Internet. However, the actor was in for a rude shock recently, when his fiance Sneha stumbled

upon a web page on Iqbal. A fan of Khan has taken on the actor's identity and created a profile on the popular website Orkut, which is the biggest online meeting platform for people from around the world.

Giving details about this discovery, Iqbal says, "I was totally unaware of it. One day, Sneha was casually checking some websites when she stumbled upon a profile with my name and picture. The person who created it was getting thousands of queries and replies from people all over the world. Sneha mentioned that to me and I was more amused than angry."

On visiting the web page in question, one can see that the fan who has created it has not only used Iqbal's name, but also added in details about the actor, including his actual birth date, which is February 10.

The fan pretending to be Iqbal has also given a brief description under the About Me section that reads, "I can't reply to all of you. I don't have enough time to reply to all of you individually. I hope you people will understand."

Not gratefully yours

Iqbal also informs that his mobile number isn't private any more. Most of his fans already have it. "There is a website where some one posted my mobile number. After that, everyone around the world keeps calling me."

After the Orkut episode, the actor would get messages and calls from fans thanking him for chatting with them the previous night.

"I would be wondering when did I ever speak to this person? Whenever some one tells me that I have mailed them or chatted with them on the Internet, I make it a point to clarify the misunderstanding."

Does he feel threatened or worried about a fan who has taken on his identity? "Not really. I think whoever the person is doesn't intend any harm to me. I find it quite funny that someone actually has the time to do all this."

Recently, Iqbal purchased a brand new laptop and Sneha has been helping him get the hang of his new machine.
Says Khan, "I hardly get time to visit the Internet or even use my computer. Sneha does the required email checking and browsing. She is also helping me get accustomed with the new laptop."
