hey all,
I'm in Singapore these days and they have just done with their share of 'idolism' - Singapore Idol 😆
Amidst speculations that Jonathan - a Chinese contestant would easily win the crown, the result was shocking for many and a malay Guy named Hady Mirza won with a massive margin, acquring over 70% of the vote casted.
Here, you can vote just once form a mobile but one of the feature writers in The Straight Times of Singapore wrote in her article "lessons in democracy, Singapore idol-style, ".... there was chat on blogs that another Malay coudn't possibly win Singapore idol......
By this race-based theory, Hady won because the Malay community rallied around him and put their money where their choices are - unlike pragmatic Chinese........who would rather keep the money than cast vote for a singing contest...."
That was an eye-opener article and I wanted to share it with you.... also interacted wit the write through email.
it happens everywhere in the world and it is for those people who were blaming Indian population for their choice as II-2.
if you have money and also want to bring your choices to the floor, you have a right to do so...otherwise, just keep chattering wont help any cause...a lesson learned for one more story.....
Take care
