Guys i know it has already been brought up and discussed before, but the doubt still lingers on and the questions remain unanswered.

Came across this FB comment which makes the water more murkier,

"Sab bekaar hai dosto!!! vaha pe pehle se sab selected hote hai, vo log talent nahi hazaro ko jhund me nikal dete hai!!! i hav experinc of luckhnw. dnt waste ur time. judges ki shakal toh 4 round hone k baad dikhti hai!!!
Like May 6 at 11:32am"

If you go through the terms & conditions on the official website of Indian Idol 6 you get the real picture. One thing is clear though that the aspirants are pre-screened by the casting crew before they are presented before the jury of judges and even among the hopefuls many would be already pre-selected and what we are shown is just the script of a reality show in the garb of a musical show.

It is evident that the casting crew will be looking for more than the singing quality of a participant, things like the entertainment quotient(audition round), vote garnering ability(spectacular rounds) resulting in huge inflow of ad & sms revenue for the channel

yeh to sure hai ki judges ke pass jane se pehle log bahar kayee rounds se ho ke pahunchte hai ,kiyunki bahar hazaron log hote hain aur sub ko to judges nahi sun sakte .same thing happened in canadian idol ( my daughters friend got selected upto 4 rounds but then rejected) baki jo ghar jate hain aur kayee log welcome kerne aate hain ,maa baap ke pair chuna ,stage pe matha tekna aur sub kuch scripted hota hai but talent to talent hai jo singing achhi hai wohi jati hai .

I think the whole auditions this time was shoddily produced, managed and broadcasted. It's no secret that they really don't go through the crowds they show and they randomly pre-screen and also they pick candidates from other shows and pass them off as first timers or aam junta. But this time they didn't even make a good pretense of the same in the auditions. American Idol does a much better job of the farce than this unprofessional Indian presentation.

My friend knew two girls who tried out for American Idol, they definitely pre-screen. One of my friends could not sing, she did it for fun and she was surprised after the pre-screening they let her see the judges. They want some poor acts for entertainment purposes for sure.

I am sure about one thing...in the later rounds, they will be looking for 'performers' and not just singers. I am sure in this era if a Lataji or Rafi saabhad participated , they would have had no chance of winning. Think of what the participants had to do in the last year's competition...they had to give live performances...who can forget Sreeram's Ram-Seeta song.I am very sure that only the best looking girl who can perform on stage and look like a rockstar will reach the top 3 The rest will be eliminated even if they extremely good 'singers', but not exceptionally beautiful. Same with guys...the finalist will be a dashing city-bred guy with a flashy outgoing personality.
The winner becomes the 'face' of Sony and has to represent Sony at official functions etc and has a 2- year contract with Sony. Will they choose a good singer or a good looking attractive person.
That's how it is...sad...this is not a real test of musical abilities.

This was the exact point i was trying to draw attention to. Now Indian Idol claims to be mainly focused on the singing ability of the contestant and nothing else as claimed repeatedly by all the judges. If so then the task of the screening team is very simple, to just select the musically talented person amongst all the hordes of people shown in the audition venues and present him or her before the jury who will then decide their fate. But the reality is something else. Why do so many ghatiya singers, clownish & goofy comedians, are shown doing their antics in front of the judges, getting humiliated on national TV, whereas they shouldn't be allowed in front of the judges in the first place by the (in)competent pre-screening team, this being a purely musical show?

IT leaves so many questions unanswered and lead to couple of doubts such as;

A) The jury is part and parcel of the non-musical part of the show and are playing their part of the scrip.

B) The non-singers know what they are doing and might even get paid a small compensation for getting humiliated by the judges. Some of them even show their anger at being rejected which i think is also a part of the act.

C)Are the huge crowds shown at auditions real or made up? Why fool young gullible minds who are made to believe that Indian idol is a gateway for a playback singing career which is far from reality, Sandeep acharya? Abhijeet Sawant? Prashant Tamang? What has become of them?

Such a huge rant from me 🥱, I'll be back.

It is not possible to produce a show without a script. They were showing promos of contestants before auditions that shows that Indian idol team first screen them before sending them to Judges and Judges know in advance if a particular singer is talented or not. Anyway it's a show business. I have been involved in a recording for a local tv program. A local singer requested me to play Tabla for her. For a 4 minute Bhajan it took them over two hours to record it. Next time I refused to go to the studio because I don't want to waste my time and I am better of playing live in a temple.😆
