THE NAME "INDIAN IDOL" IS A MISNOMER........

They call it "INDIAN" IDOL.......WRONG............ NORTH INDIAN IDOL is the right name.......

II does not cover all parts of india....like KERALA, Tamil Nadu,Karnataka, and the eastern states.....how fair is this......when they call it "INDIAN" idol, they mean to say the whole of india....but they never audition in the southern states.......lets see why

maybe sony thinks that the response wouldnt be great in the south.....ok, agreed that not many out here in the south watch sony but lemme tell you'll, we are no less passionate about music, no less talented and no less involved than the north/west/east indians......SONY CALLS IT "INDIAN" IDOL....... but does not cover the southern states ....they cover the east...there is a Calcutta audition but there is no Chennai/Bangalore/Trivandrum/hyderabad audition.....but they call it "INDAN IDOL"

now what this means is that ravi tripathi and sandeep are one of the 8 best singers of India.....is this true....DEFINITELY NOT........american idol covers all parts of the States.......but not the so called"INDIAN IDOL".......

India is a multiethnic country and it is impossible to expect that every one must be fluent in hindi........agreed.......sony thinks that the responses in certain parts like the south and the eastern parts may not be all that great....agreed....but there are way outs

Sony can have tie ups with the local channels(and thus make more money as if these local channels buy the rights from sony, the viewership would increase and more money for sony and the channels)....and the singers can be allowed to sing in any language(as the makers say that "EMPHASIS IS ON SINGING" and not other aspects (all pun intended)).....when karunya can sing a telugu song on idol and when ppl can accept that he sounded good, why not allow participants to sing in the language they are comfortable in....repeating myself again, the show is called "INDIAN IDOL"........

the negativities if this system is introduced....people might say that not all might be able to understand the feel of the song....like if someone sings Dard E Dil(awww😳😳..i want amey/karunya to sing this in any of the following episodes),a malayali wouldnt understand the lyrics .....and the judges liek farah wouldnt undersatnd head or tail of a carnatic classic......is there a way out....yes....a panel of judges who are "REAL SINGERS" and not choreographers and copycat music directors....... ....and people who have real taste in music can make out as to whether a song was good or bad even if it is in another language😉

if it is called "INDIAN IDOL", THEN THEY MUST COVER ALL PARTS OF INDIA......OTHERWISE NAME IT SOMETHING LIKE FAME GURUKUL WHERE THE WORD "INDIAN" IS NOT MENTIONED....just wanted to say this...sorry for going off topic....

Agree about the audition part.....they should hold 4 auditions for East, West, North and South.

But do not agree with Language part.......If everybody is singing in their mother tongue....it will be chaos. When i apply this......as an audience myself....i won't be able to enjoy a song; the lyrics of which i don't understand. I know music is universal.........it does not have any particular language. That's why people enjoy instrumental music but when it comes to singing; lyrics are important part of a song. And if one does not understand it.......one can not enjoy it.

Moreover......South region is also a part of India and HINDI is India's National Language.........It's fair enough to expect every Indian knows Hindi.
