i don't understand

i am not if this has been posted before but i don't understand the reason behind sony presenting the gala round in groups of six. i think it is unfair on the participants as they have grouped male and female. i thought indian idol had gender no bar then why judege them in separate groups. i think due to this some good talented participants r going to be out soon. very funny what hey have done. the inidan idol 1 was good when all 12 performed together. what say u guys
