I'm speaking for DID and SRGMP only. I don't know about II. But the whole voting is just there to play with the audience's mind. Its dirty politics. I think its the channel heads who decide everything.

The sum total of all these is that news about Shivam's elimination is just speculation. If it happens really it will just be a coincidence,
During previous Idols it was said that the parent company whose franchise Sony is using is monitoring votes.Don't know how far it is true. But deciding result before even a single vote is cast is not likely. No channel would risk its credibility like this.
BTW why not give judges the right to recall a loser just before the finale rather than giving the veto to nullify public voting?

Saregama I very well know does not count votes at all...lol That is to maintain some standards. indian Idol poor things have neither very high standards ( barring some gem of singers like Sreeram) nor are they able to keep some really good ones till top 5. It seems a pity.

How is it possible that a girl who NEVER came into bottom 3 even once and was TOP VOTE EARNER for almost every gaala (yes she got maximum votes in almost every gala) was first time came into bottom 3 and suddenly eliminated by the public who were giving her MAXIMUM amount of votes for the last 7 galas and that too when she has improved alot.
I don't like Tia at all, and I am glad she is gone for good, but here I am talking about ground realities of the show.

It is NOT possible....public trends (that are also consistent for 7 galas) canNOT take such 180 degree turn suddenly keh jis contestant ko woh Maximum votes earner bana rahey hon for 7 weeks, they suddenly eliminate her ...not possible at all....it all happened due to judge's discretion and their final decision for Tia to show's management.

Also how is it possible in DID show that Dhamesh who was at TOP almost every week suddenly lost at finale from the girl Shakti.
How is it possible that brilliant dancers Rakhi-Abishek who were best at the show lost from Aamir-Sanjeeda in Nach Baliye (remember Rakhi has filed a complaint against STARPLUS in police station fro malicious voting , but later on took back due to media pressure).
How is it possible that a GREAT singer ANWESHA DUTTA with whom all janta was, can lost to a mediocre singer Aishwarya Maumdar in Saragama pa Lil Champs.

Trust me its NOT public votings all the time. Yes most of the time they decide upon voting, but on important stages of the show the decision is always been taken by creative team, heads, management and judges and not solely on public votings.
Votings are a good source of channel's income, but not the sole source of deciding the fate of the show and contestants.

Oh my god yet they eliminated her...that's sad...kind of like cheating. i mean, its really unfortunate for those who voted her.😡

I have following questions regarding this:-

1. Why would channel chuck out a person who is getting maximum votes? That is a source of income for them?
2. If they deem someone much weaker why dont they remove them in early stages before the public openion starts to build against the channel?
3. Why would they decide to shoot an elimination or even decide before the voting has even started? Even if they decide whom to eliminate, it would be a or at least ought to be a secret with the top few, as shoot means making all involved in the shoot know of the malpractice which can come out in the open as is the case here.
4. If everything is decided then are the auditions and performances also a farse?
5. Are the contestants also involved in this or the judges or only the production or creative team of the channel?

My entirely unsubstantiated take on this is that the marketing think tank of the program identifies some people whom they guess are really marketable/will catch the public attention. So in the auditions three types of people are selected. People who sing really well, people who have a sob story and people who they think will capture audiences imagination for entirely the wrong reason( Tia, Remo, Suhit etc).

Of course it is all guess work and the team has to take some to tough decisions during the audition stage. I think this is one reason they snow only snippets during the early selections.

The contestants are of course not revealed all these things but I think the judges know to a certain extent. Of course the judges cannot overtly compromise their ethics but I think they get recommendations from the production side which they sometimes are forced to follow.

I think voting takes place and the votes are counted but nothing really prevents the channel from tweaking the votes a little bit so they can ride on the wave of public perception for as long as possible, After a while a contestant like Tia stops generating the same level of enthusiasm from either the judges/audience. I think at this stage a little manipulation is done by the channels to ensure that she does not continue to stay. So nothing is so straightforward. I think a bit of voting, a bit of marketing think tank and some hand waving go into the show and that's how corporations work. Nothing shocking about that.

It is a source of income for the telecom company, not the channel. The channel heads would obviously prefer higher TRPS AS THAT WOULD EMAN MORE REVENUE IN FORM OF ADVERTISEMENTS.

as per this theory... correct me if i'm wrong....shivam gets voted out next, then shriram,..judges will not use veto...the top 3 are rakesh, bhoomi & swaroop...the most "TRP" gainers??

I can see shivam being voted out early but sreeram probably won't be.The finals usually consist of one very good singer and one crappy singer.

Edit: I don't know whether sheeba's news is correct or not.

2. Because the public loved her (not only for singing) and also she was the major source of income for the show through her votes thats why they keep her based on public votings for the last 2 months, but at the last stages eliminated her through judges' consent.
3. I already explained that I NEVER said that the shoot has been done or the episode is recorded. What I said that some acquaintances who happen to be the crew members gave insider's news that channel's head, creative team and management has already decided that at this stage the elimination will be of Shivam, they may record the show today but the decision has been taken.
4. I already explained this too that MOST OF THE TIME the decisions are based on public votings only. The auditions and most of the previous eliminations were fair and according to public votes (except Tia and this time Shivam) but mostly at the last stages it is NOT SOLELY based on public votings alone.
5. I have no idea about this question. But it seems to be the mutual understanding of creative heads, team, management and judges. Contestants don't seem to be involved in this upper level strategic business politics of the channel.

Thanks your answer do make sense but everybody would agree if this is true this is highly unethical. My only concern is still that apart from a couple of top bosses no one would know about the predecided elimination. I am not sure if accross the world simmilar practices are prevelant. I know a lot of hue and cry and alligations were made on Sanjaya's elimination and the producers had to come out with voting details in American Idol though many alleged that the channel themselves manupulated votes to keep Simon happy. As he threatened to leave the show if Sanjaya wins. Unfortunately he only did one season after that. The last season was his last season
