I'd be very surprised if an international franchise like Idol would risk such tampering with votes.

As an aside, the 'terms and conditions' of the voting on Music Ka Maha Muqabla said that the producers reserved the right to ignore votes if they wished. 😕

votes are definitely counted, why would otherwise "not so great" singers like "sandeep" or "prashant " get the II titles. If they really are after TRP's then why not make the best the winner...it would be more profitable to all!!

Not like Season 4 and this season. it seems they are eliminating people at will. Somebody who has bene in danger zone since Gala 2 ( Shivam) is not yet eliminated is a bit fishy.

He was not in bottom 3 continuously since gala 2........ he s been safe many times.......

Because the best often does not give the best TRP's. I don't know how to explain this but what i feel happens is something very complex- a combination of votes, TRP'sd, production team's strategy.
ia m 1005 sure its not just the votes hwich get a play here...Naushad and Tia would be in top 5 otherwise😕

Agree with this.I think they do take the votes into account but they consider other factors too.

They can always find a minor technicality to disqualify certain votes or have counting errors. I have a hard time believing there is no minor fudging. However, considering it is an international licensed format they are using – not counting or straight out tampering is out of the question.

Personally, I find nothing fishy in a repetitive bottom performer being saved all the time. This has happened on several reality shows. It is also a statistically probable pattern. Predictability is less probable than unpredictability.

Human psychology works to save the one they deem at risk. If they have two favorites, they will tend to favor the one who they fear losing. Considering the demographics of Shivam's fan base – it is also a demographic group that is known to vote passionately and vociferously. So I would have found it fishy if Shivam was eliminated before the top five. In fact even before top three seems strange, but it is probable.

Also the channel is licensing Simon Fuller's format. They would not risk an entire license so blatantly.
