Same is happening with Tia as Ishmeet in VOI 1

Ishmeet ( God bless his soul)was insulted time and again by judges, given less coverage as compared to other contestants in VOI 1 but went on to win, beating far better singers like Abhaas, Abhilasha, Irfan, Toshi, Arshpreet etc. The reason was people identified with him. He was the classic underdog. The common man, not just his state Punjab, was supporting him because he represented their aspirations, dreams.

The more the producers and judges tried to down play him, the more people voted. Just like Sunidhi insulted Tia again and again, two judges- Abhijeet and Aadesh- kept on taunting ishmeet. That only resolved people more to vote for him. Just like Tia, he had a sweet voice, but was not well trained. He had the natural talent though. The junta loves a person with potential who is not technically best. Case in point - Prashant Tamang.

Once public voting comes in, sympathy and identification are two big factors. People feel sorry for someone who is trying, yet not getting appreciated. There is no rationale to public voting.

I have seen people from Bengali nd North-east are crazy about Tia. I went on a short holiday to Kolkata, there are banners everywhere asking for people to vote for Tia. Her mom is also in Kolkata University. On Facebook, Nepalis love Tia so much they are asking how to vote for her. Apart from that, I believe Marathis also prefer Tia to Bhoomi as she stays in Mumbai. yet Tia never asks for Marathi votes like Bhoomi did. Apart from that, Tia's looks are too pretty. she has a lot of males going crazy over her, including my 25 year old brother, my 10 year old cousin, my 18 year old juniors.

overall a lot of factors are in favour of Tia. i think she has every chance to be Indian idol 5.

I just hope everything you said turns out to be false...😔
After my hopes rekindled this time seeing the quality of singers, I don't want the things to turn sour by seeing Tia as the final winner.

well I was just analyzing why Tia gets so many votes. And honestly i found the best parallel in Ishmeet situation. Mind you, Ishmeet was not the worst either just projected that way. After ishmeet, first time I am seeing so much support for a singer regionally as well as from people all over. Most people just adore her.

Yes you are quite right here. Ishmeet was not one of the worst singers unlike Tia who I think is the weakest singer of this season.

II5 has a tradition of kicking out the good singer and making Idols of people ho don't deserve.

I don't want such an injustice to happen again 😔

I just want to try to make one thing clear first of all I didn't watch voi but I don't think Tia is a common man typea person becz a person like swaroop seems to be the common man to me

She may win if you look back to all 4 seasons and people who won and compare to people who were in top 5 in that season

and also she never got in bottom so there are all possibilities she gets in to top 3 at least with bhoomi and sreeram who also never got in bottom 3

II5 just needs the best and worst singers......all in between will bite the dust....and thanks to biased voting the worst singer will win.....

I think Bhoomi is the worst singer of the lot and shes still there then why not Tia?
Minty's logic makes sense. People vote emotionally and not logically. Tia probably pulls at their heartstrings with her "little girl lost" act.
Although I am Bengali myself, I would never vote for Tia even if I lived in India.
I really hope Sreeram wins becuz he IS the BEST singer!

I remember we were all so shocked and angry when Ishmeet won VOI becuz Abhaas and Harshit were far more superior to him! We had cursed the Indian junta for voting Ishmeet to an undeserved victory.
I hope same thing is not repeated here. Why on earth are the Kolkatans and Nepalis and Marathis voting for Tia? No doubt shes pretty and cute but definitely not the best! She has a sweet voice but it quavers nervously at most gala performances.
Junta shd use their ears for once and not be swayed by looks or sentiments or pity for the "poor sweet gal" 😆
