Indian Idol 5 contestant Bhumi Trivedi from Baroda was in for a surprise when her favourite stars from SAB TV's Tarak Mehta Ka Oltah Chashmah ' Dayaben and Jethalal ' decided to give her a surprise during her performance.

Bhumi was ecstatic to see Dilip Joshi (Jethalal) and Disha Vakhani (Dayaben) supporting her on the sets. The telly couple requested the audience to vote for Bhumi. They also entertained the judges and Disha pulled Sunidhi Chauhan on stage to sway to a garba number. Sunidhi, who enjoyed herself, revealed that she was doing the garba after 13 years. Said Bhumi, "It was a delightful surprise. I am truly thankful to the production team along with Dilipji and Dishaji for making the day so special for me." Watch all the fun on Indian Idol tonight at 9 pm.

This is utter rubbish....why do we promote regionalism???
That is precisely why good singers get voted out, because a large percent of the voters vore emotionally, not correctly....too bad international votes do not count....we just see things a little differently....

This is definitely NOT regionalism ! The article mentions they are her favorite actors and so they asked to vote for her ! 😳

I am with you here. I too think this is pure regionalism. Those TV actors don't even have time to watch Indian Idol, forget Bhoomi being their favorite.
Actually the two TV actors who came act in a TV soap called Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chasma and they portray a Gujarati couple in it. Bhoomi as we know also belongs to Gujarat.

TV anchors should also be held responsible for promoting regionalism or whoever writes the script. Like in SRGMP Shaan and Aditya Narayan used to call contestants like...Mumbai ki murgi Nihira Joshi...The Royal Bengal Cub Aneek Dhar...Pakistan ke Amanat Ali ya Assam ke Debojit...
This is nothing but promoting regionalism according to me.
And then contestants asking for votes in their regional languages.

I think all these people should go and watch Chak De India. Especially that scene when the women's team is introduced to their coach.

Correctly said!

I agree completely. Regionalism should be disqualified on all grounds in a reality show, whether it is for fun sake or serious voting issues. In fact, it is because of regionalism that Indian Idol's winners are not as deserving winners as they should be. Because the setup is entirely based on the voting patterns.

100% agreed👍🏼
TMKOC has been on air for a long time..how come these people never showed up in previous seasons?? How come they suddenly emerge and show support for Bhoomi the "Gujju Rapper"? I am pretty sure SONY is playing the R-card once again👎🏼
