I don't know what I feel about recycled contestants. On one hand, I think that its good that these contestants have worked hard in the last few years and they have improved and come back to try their luck into a new reality show. Especially in the case of people like Shashi Suman, who was an excellent singer, and eliminated because the ones he was competing with were slightly better in the eyes of the judges (which reminds me how much the gharana system at the beginning of each season of srgmp sucks!!). Anyways, Shashi is a good singer and definitely deserves another chance.
On the other hand, it defeats the whole purpose of reality shows discovering NEW talent, it doesn't seem like new talent anymore and rather, like you said, recycled talent. Its also obvious that the channel is not unaware that these contestants have been a part of other reality shows before, and are to some extent welcoming them to increase the standard of their own show. Which I guess is also understandable.
As an audience, I like seeing new faces, fresh voices, and undiscovered talent. Not losers from other competitions trying their luck again and hoping they'll be a little better than the other not-so-good participants. Having said that, it may also be that these contestants have been working hard in the last few years and have definitely improved. And in that case, I have no problem with them entering a reality show if they are better and improved singers. If they are at the same level they were in SRGMP or other reality shows, than there's no point and do not deserve a second chance.
I predict now that Shashi and Manisha will end up far in this competition and Fareed Ahmed will face an early elimination. Despite all his attempts to fame, I'm sorry to say that Fareed is not reality show material. He does not have what it takes to garner votes from the audience. Not just votes, I also find it hard to connect with him as a singer. Indian Idol looks for a performer, and a performer requires stage presence, something which Fareed lacks, and Shashi and Manisha excel in.
Sorry Debo, don't know about the other contestant you mentioned. I only watch SRGMP.
