Shilpa's performance is quite comparable to Vasundhara's in 'Rabba Rabba' - nice, unique voice but there is a spark lacking in her voice. There is no 'khanak' in her voice and she just seems to be singing words in a tune without meaning much of what she says. There are some moments of nice characterisation as well as a few nice harkats. But not enough to bring this above a 6 from me, especially given the competition in this round!

SAS ji, you oughta have read the rules a bit more carefully. The marks were solely on the basis of her performance in this song, not the others.

Well, sometimes your performance looks worse when you are singing with someone so good. In other words, "overshadowing".

I do know that..I just mentioned this as a trivia. Without affecting my decision based on other songs. I already wrote in the first post itself why i did not like this song sung by her.

Well the variation in scores shows that it is a tricky performance to measure. What one person can hear is different from what others pick up on more strongly. But nine for this?! Wow... I wonder what the others in this round deserve on that grading scale! 😆

Again a benefit of doubt like Vasundhara and another 7 (I don't want to leave the range of 7-9 unless and until there is someone exceptionally bad/good) 😃

Throughly enjoyed this song

Loved her voice quality

But the feel was kind of missing, think a little bit more teasing and improvisations on some of the notes would have done the magic,

for this performance 7

Nice peppy dance track.

I will be a bit lenient and give her an 8.

Her tonal quality is refreshingly different, pretty rustic, which is a good thing according to today's musical demands, read that modern era. For a first timer, she felt completely at ease and actually sounded very mature. While there is no scope of melody given the type of song she sang, she did a wonderful job in handling the voice pitch.
