Mini Mathur |
The Indian Idol 2 audition rounds are in full swing. Hosts Aman Verma and Mini Mathur are back for the second season.
Not many expected Aman to be called back on the show (after India TV's sting operation featuring Ruchi).
But the channel decided that his personal life should not have any bearing on his professional life. The other shocker is that things seem to have changed. The cold vibes between Mini and Aman seem to have vanished.
Mini and Aman didn't like each other
The first season of Idol saw lot of uneasiness between the two hosts, because of their different working styles.
A source from Indian Idol confirms, "There used to be lot of discomfort on the sets. It was quite obvious that Mini and Aman didn't quite like each other. Also their working styles would clash. Mini is a natural; she doesn't rely too much on the script, while Aman doesn't work without a script. He used to ask for the lines in advance.

Contestants call Aman 'naughty boy'
On screen Aman and Mini looked perfectly in sync like they were having fun, but once the shot was over they'd walk away to their separate trailers.
The source also reveals that the audiences haven't forgotten the Ruchi episode. "There were a lot of incidents during the audition rounds where contestants would call him naughty boy and ask him questions about the episode."
When we contacted Mini to ask if she has built bridges with her co-host and become good friends, she laughed and said, "All I can say is that things are definitely better than the last time. We are both working towards a common aim of making the show successful."
Aman: I understand Mini better
Aman Verma too admitted that his relationship with his co-host has undergone a change.
"Mini and I understand each other much better after the first season of Indian Idol. I'm sure everybody takes time before getting comfortable with an individual. As far as the Ruchi episode is concerned, it doesn't affect me at all. By now, I've mastered the art of not reacting to the issue."
