For me, I see them in every episodes be on flute, sitar, guitar, saxophone etc. , I don’t even know their names apart from Girish Vishwa. That from start of SRGMP years ago

As you said, I know Girish, Ronnie, Anupam, vishwaja’s dad , our sitarist Bhattji; the flutist & the saxophone player are simply superb, forgot their names. PV_IFhandle used to make a mention of the musicians. I started noticing the young saxophone player due to that.
Sony & TCT would be nowhere without that band - sob stories & fake romances won’t sell. High time they realized that. 😡.

Any controversy that crops up, Aadi makes a snide remark about it in later episodes to save face - 🙄 like the Amit Kumar one in the last season. Let’s see how they treat this.

To be honest, it is the impact of II12 that I started noticing the band members and their names too. I know a few of their names: Girish Vishwa on percussion, Ronnie Satamkar on Guitar, Anup Shankar on the octapad (digital drums), Ayaskantha is one of the keyboardist and I believe the other one is Rajiv or Manor (not sure now), Robin on the trumpet (he tours with PD / AK often), Advith Kashikar or Kiran Vinkar (blind) or Varad Kathapurkar on the flute (he was even the flautist for one of the Sonu Nigam shows I attended recently), Bhagirath Bhatt on Sitar. Naveen Kumar also appears on flute sometimes - and he plays the flute for AR Rahman in all of ARR's music. The person on Tabla is one we have been seeing since SRGM days I believe but I don't know his name. And of course, now and then Raj Sodha or Shyam Raj from RD's band come for Saxophone.

These days, however, most of the regular folks are absent from Idol.

Like I said, impact of II12. During II12 there was a lot of activity on IG around these folks and I just remembered some names. Not all, as you can see. There have been a couple of other guitarists and a drummer, a mandolin player who has a single expression on his face all the time, etc.

And I forgot to mention that young Saxophone player - was just 16 when he came on II 12 and was completely self taught - through YouTube!! I was truly impressed when I read this back story. Harsh Bhavsar. I know his name because somebody I know knows somebody who knows somebody who knows him - that kind of thing on Whatsapp 😂
