Hey guys,
Ok now I'm sick and tired of three post old members coming and telling us that our forum is boring and that other forums who's not got as interesting story lines as us have got more activity than we do. It just isn;t right, and I intend to change things .
1)Indiana Jones: Now I got a lot of compliments telling me the game was very interesting and that its a cool ,fun game, but not many ppl helped out prajakta and Suvarna. So I'm thinking that instead of having it as a duo working and the rest of the forum just sitting and watching them in action- we'd rather have an all forum competition, each one for themselves. The treasure hunt will remain the same, with clue's coming out at regular speed's and one clue per day, but instead of only two people competing, I'm thinking, maybe it will be better if we have the entire forum participating.
2)Discussion of the week: Now, even though we come up with good discussion idea's, the discussion doesn't last long enough for us to really come to some sort of debate over anything. I'm thinking, that the way things currently are, discussion of the week should be more like, discussion of the weekend, where it lasts only till the weekend and at the end of the weekend we come to a united conclusion of who's the winner.
3)MOW The dare for the MOW was a colaborated idea presented by both shefs and me. But frankly speaking, I've not seen either any cool dare's around here, neither have I seen them being carried out. (a fanfic isn't such an interesting dare). So I'm thinking again of having a certain team of members on the DARE COMMITEE. They come up with the Dare's and then give a full account of how exactly it was carried out. Also, nobody is asking questions to the MOW, so incase its possible, we should have the MOW come online at an IST AND just like our stars have one hour interactive sessions, we can have something of that sort, with everyone logging on at that time and instead of randomly asking questions, having an actual interaction with the mow. This way we get to know each other better and get acquainted with more ppl.
4)Chat Club: The chat club was a fantastic idea, and so was the pixie queen's club, but both seem to have gone somewhere lost within our 70 odd pages of topics. Thats not how we want to run things, so pull up your socks. The chat club shall be opened up again, and maybe we can discuss actual intellectual topics like the narmada bachao andolan and Amitabh Bachchan's IT case and not random chit chatter. Ofcourse, we'll have that too, but when things get boring, we can have a good intelligent discussion too. Also, I think it will be wise if we have a president of the chat club supervising over the proceedings and keeping the thread active.
5)Competitions: Our last full forum competition was the banner contest and we got a great response from many ppl, but guys that was almost centuries ago. We need to have a new competition. Maybe a siggy contest, or a united av contest will work. I want you guys to come up with idea's.
What I was thinking was creating a Mary Sue-ish charecter who tries to Get Adi and Chandni together and have the good writers here write a fanfic featuring her. But before we select the writers who'll work on that fic, we need to select the charecter, and our first competition can be to come up with a gal/guy for this responsibility.
6)India Calling Weekly: The Kandy Floss forums come out with an episode every now and then, obviously done by one person. But what we can do here is very different. We can have a weekly or bi-weekly where we discuss the occurings of the week, talk about our member's personal life, put up the chat transcripts of the MOW, comment on the topics of the week and discussions in the chat club. We can also issue's challenges to each other and celebrate birthday's. A lil corner where we discuss other forum happenings will add the extra spice. This section can be something where a member from our forum goes and interacts with another forum members for a week and comes back and reports their findinds, actually.
Now all these things can either be passed off as my rantings, or we can actually take them up and do something about it. I shall be needing a very strong and supportive set of ppl who can help carry out all these things, along with Hetal's support.
If you agree with these points, we can immediately start off. You can even add in stuff to the above points. But, I need you'll to come here and support me in this thread, before we can start off with any of these things.
