The Aryan Singh Rathore - why I find him as an endearing ML of ITV

I am not sure how many more episodes we would get to see this once in a blue moon ML character of ITV, who by his charm has attracted a lot of viewers to watch a show which was once rejected by many, because of the regressive topic it was dealing with. A character that will never let you forget him, even when you might stop watching the episodes for various reasons. The very same reason why I decided to make this special post for him, as we celebrate 200 episodes of ASR today.

All these days, many of us including me were disappointed with him for various reasons; but we all will agree in one matter - the way Aryan feels lost whenever he misses Imlie around and the way he gets restless when she becomes silent after having a fight.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1535423674081193984

The way here he said, 'MUJHE KHAMOSHI PASAND THI IMLIE PHIR TUM AAYE AUR MERI LIFE KA SHOR BAN GAYE!!!'....it contained all the loneliness Aryan was feeling since Aravind left the Rathores and how much he was feeling suffocated from within, all those 4years. And the best part is that he doesn't hesitate to vocalise his feelings and yearnings to Imlie, either through his words or actions. Which is a significant attribute when it is about men we are talking about. Because, most of the men though they may feel the same, they never vocalise it to their partners, due to their inflated male ego, especially if it is after a fight. That's where Aryan still manages to tug our heartstrings inspite of all his flaws and the reason why I find him endearing among all the ITV MLs I have seen.

https://tenor.com/bRIP3.gif

The above gif, which is one of my most favourite scenes of Fahmaan the actor, summarises who and why he is the ASR we get to see from the beginning - the one who becomes overprotective and restless when it comes to his loved ones. The reason is, he feels lifeless without them. That's the impact Aravind's loss has had on him and he is still not out of that phase. And that's why his brain gets freezed the moment he thinks he couldn't protect his loved ones, which inturn makes him loose all his rational thinking capability. And that's what indeed got him attracted to Imlie. During their initial interactions, he saw with his own eyes how Imlie survived through her adversities, sometimes with a smile in the very next moment, and that too without compromising her self respect. In a period of 48hrs he had seen her being happy as her first feature got published in the newspaper, only to get mocked by her ex-hubby, then in the night noticed her hiding behind the car; and after all this she was back to her chirpy self, singing & dancing, the next day morning, inviting him to have blessings from her Sita Maiya, and later that night coming across her desolated plight, in which he too had a small contribution. Inspite of all these, he never saw her falling weak until that night the divorce papers were served to her. And that's exactly why he never wants to see her defeated and why he used to get frustrated seeing her destroying herself in the name of love for Ts. Because, it was something he couldn't do for himself w.r.to Aravind's loss and what Imlie was falling into in the pretext of helping Ts. Along with the fear of loosing his loved ones, it is this fear Aryan has about Imlie that drives him crazy - that she will never think of herself first when it comes to her dear ones, be it his family or her friends. And he is right as we have seen how he had to stop her from accepting every nasty conditions thrown on her by Narmada. Now, only the person has changed; but his fear is same regarding Imlie defending Madhav. If he could go against his mother to support Imlie, then why would he think in favor of Madhav, who according to him is a stranger whom Imlie came across one of her sting operations. It's just because he trusted Imlie that he gave him a job in BT. But now, with the nakli proofs and Madhav's own words to Aryan during his office interrogation driving him in opposite direction of Imlie's words, it is quite normal for Aryan to be more protective and possessive for Imlie. I wish kaash Imlie along with assuring Aryan that he will not loose her, was shown at least once thinking about the emotional trauma, Aryan as a man & husband, was going through, it would have made their bond more attractive. We get to see it happening from Aryan's side most of the times. But with Imlie, she is always on a mission. I am fine with it too. Because, that's the reason why this man could find a place in the viewers' hearts almost equally as the FL - because he always introspects himself and tries to rectify his shortcomings, even when others too are at fault and what else is the biggest proof than the way he reacted when Aravind murder mystery was out. He was the first one to say sorry. The way he immediately said sorry to Keri for shouting at her, after realising Keri had nothing to do with his frustrations was something that caught my attention in yesterday's episode. Because it shows he is that man who never hesitates to own his mistake, be it to his family or even a househelp. And, that's why The Aryan Singh Rathore will always be special for us Arylieans.

A huge round of applause to the one & only Fahmaan Khan, who has been successfull in brilliantly etching each and every emotion of ASR/Aryan in our hearts without a doubt. Lots and lots of wishes to you young man. Continue being the genuine & honest person you are and keep making your parents proud forever. ❤️

❤️This man took my heart❤️the first time ever i saw him.. had stopped watching ITV for 13 some years this man brought me back. The swag, attitude , the feminist❤️ he inspiried me to write!!! Never thought i would! Ever!!!

My favorite scene was when he closes he eyes while Imlie confessed. He is so sensitive and sensible. The support he gives Imlie whther he agrees or not! One and only ITV male lead, who dont insult his wife ,doubts her anyways! Yes sometimes he act dumb but everybody has flaw he is too much protective that he cant think straight! I just love him❤️

Same here. I stopped watching ITV in year 2011-2012. Then this year February new clips of our elusive ABP and his Junglee popped in IG feed and got me hooked. Now I'm addicted to them ❤️❤️❤️❤️

When did we reach 200th?

Every bit of the episode of him are still so fresh in our hearts as it's a movie we just watched.

I love your perspective of how he feels when his protective mode comes forth when his loved once are in distress. You have nicely written it out.

Those of us who have traveled through his journey with deeper connection would always deeply miss what creatives had planned if Adi"s character didn't have the sudden exist. It would have been definitely an amazing journey.

Having said that I am not complaining. What we've got so far is far better than other mindless ML"s characters we are dished out.

You are so right Grace, there are so much adorable traits ASR posses. One of the best is the way he comes forth to accept his flaws and own it with pride. It's never overdone. He calls a spade a spade without any drama, any hesitation. A man who doesn't seem to wear hearts on his sleeve but he really does. The respect he gives to anyone regardless of their status. It really reflects why it's absolutely normal for this guy to fall for Imilie. Status is not in his mind although he repeatedly tells himself his status. I really love the way he balance's his relationship. There's no superiority not inferiority, everyone special to him has their own space in his heart. Such an amazing man for any woman to adore. I really think he balance's Imilie's character well. I mean he keeps her balanced. The list is endless when it comes to this character.

Thank you to the makers for creating such a marvelous character. It is true that a lot of viewers do take certain ideas/perspections served in TV as our ideology. A lot of us grow up valuing and iideolgize the ideas served through movies & shows like these. Lot of us do look for these types of men as our prince charming. That is a sad reality. I am so so grateful to the makers for giving us such an adorable character for girls to see in such a reality way.

Last but least not least the man who is living and breathing every minute of ASR is doing a spectacular job. I often wonder seeing Farmaan on the Ravivaar show if he's any different? How in-depth he understands and emote this character effortlessly deserves a standing ovation. I am not sure if he will be recognised in sitara awards but Farmaan if you are reading this please the amount of time, energy, emotions and time we invest with the family/ work commitments, please sweetheart take this as your award, gold, diamond and platinum medal. Because you really made ASR deeply connected with us for years to come.

Grace sweety, thank you for making this thread and sharing your analysis.

Btw. This is one character whose FD move heaven and earth to analyse and put forth the best of the perspective in a beautiful way. Thank you all lovely writers you made this 200 episode so beautiful.

Hey!! I am fairly new to the ARylie fandom but have always wondered what was the original plan of action for him had AKT 1 and 2 have not quit. Can you please share what did the makers actually plan?

Well.according to the narrative, we would have had intense angst revenge track where adi would indeed have been responsible for arvind jiju's murder. We would have had a huge track where aryan would have had a massive breakdown bcz of his survivour's guilt. He would have been insecure of Imlie's love bcz he would have never felt himself worthy of Imlie's love. Moreover, assuming adi was to turn grey, he would have played with aryan's vulnerable state of mind that Imlie could never Aryan and he stole her. Imlie would have emerged as a emotional.support for aryan and bring him.out from his guilt making him believe that it wasn't his fault and he.deserves to be loved.

We would have got AKTvs Imlie for aryan.

Offcourse, the whole after marriage parallels and realisation of love.

We got robbed of amazing trp wothy 6-8 months tracks.

Aryan is the def the male lead of ITV the moment ,

- He never Interfered in Akt / imlie relationship

- He never gave explanations to anyone , when akt accused both of them ! I really loved the no effs given attitude

- He pushed her to be better and also protected her when things got worse

- He respected imlie for who she is , not for who he wanted to be

Things ML 🤓 could never be ...

This is why some of us are not hard at writers and pretty angry with MV .
