I don’t watch many itv show but I watch roasting of show and movie on YT channel name Tried and refuse and only desi, I always used to see some clip on Instagram, so I would not know about stories but one thing I have noticed in many show clips like they present many contrast between FL and vamp not only in term of behaviour and moral but in attire, like FL will always shown dressing in India outfits like patyala, churidaar, simple salwar kamiz or saree but the vamp always shows in western outfits, there are some show which don’t follow this pattern and imlie is one of them,l start watching this show after ARYAN entry but I know bits and pieces of the show, so I’ll talk about our first vamp malini I think they always show her in saree before and after marriage, than comes BD she is also shown in churidaar and now jo baba is also dressed in salwar or some Morden Indian dresses like plazoo with kamiz. although I don’t consider BD vamp and I have feelings she’ll change in future And turned into positive character I don’t in how many episodes she change or for how many episodes she stay positive. and for imlie I didn’t know first time when she wear black western outfits she was comfortable or not but in beauty competition she wear it without any discomfort or they didn’t show it 🤔 in all those crap.

I am like can’t a girl who wear western outfits be good and can’t a girl who wear Indian outfits villain 🤷🏻‍♀️

I hope you all don’t mind my rant which is of the current track.

Yeah it's a nice change.

Breaking ITV stereotypes one step at a time.

Nice......I felt our itv shows are still stuck in the era of end of 20th century, so I too am roasting over the attires worn by the women of itv.

Sis this is an old age formula of keeping traditional dresses on high morale whereas western for vamps. I remember a character called Sindura I used to see when I was a kid. She used to wear sarees but her blouses were always modern(sleeveless, deep neck) but the main feature of her was the horizontal long line bindi she used to wear. She was known as vamps ka vamp when I was a kid. And I noticed that time most shows put their vamps in modern sarees and hatke bindis. But that was 2005 era then came the age of revolution like my teens where Ipkknd was the only exception where they show Khushi ultra traditional but Lavanya (Not villain but Arnav's ex) used to wear modern clothes. But the whole family changed views on modern clothes when Khushi became a model herself at the end of the show.

Then comes the og leads in modern clothes:

Anika(Ishqbaaz), Zoya(Qubul hai) and no one lol. I don't remember others.

Hamare yaha waise bhi relatable nehi hai as northeast is more bended towards western clothing but there's a section which was beyond famous the patiala suits and the bodycon salwars for ITV after 2007 else our girls would wear either mekhla chadar or western.

@bold- yes she was not a villain but she was b*chy in start of story but once Khushi saved her from Nani’s worth Lavanya starts changing her heart Change her perspective change she start dressing like Khushi till the time leaves the show then they show Sheetal the vamp she wore western outfits . Then there is anupama and kavya. Although there is Anupam friend and Malvika. My point is it still going in some show but imlie is different.

Imlie is indeed different how can we forget it's a Gul Mata show who introduced heroines wearing jeans which felt like a taboo for ITV fls. I guess they keep on doing better experiments and I hope they continues with future projects too.
