I remember IPK season 1 had one such. She was Arnav's GF and then fiance but she turned BFF with Khushi. Lavanya. She was kool. actress too :)

Maybe CV's lot of time do add the scenes that could be used for future plots and many times they don't use them. I don't know if you ever watched GHSP in that Sameera was mentioned as a male leads ex but was never shown in the show ...just the mention of her name made her a permanent spot as a vamp in mostly all of the stories written for Maaneet.

Seeing this carefree nature of Aaru, i too was thinking of only casual flings till yesterday I saw that hospital scene where he painfully mentions the word betrayal. Also, if we think more about Aryan's guilt on not being able to save his jiju, there should be a more deeper reason on why he had to send Aravind to the factory, in his place. So, I would like to wait, watch and hope that CVs will handle it carefully, if they are planning to bring in a track on Aryan's ex.
