2. Children come first

Narmada could care less about society when it comes to her children. BM keeps taunting her that Arvind died because she never followed any rituals in Arpi's marriage and got them married despite the kundli's not being compatible. That just goes to show that for Narmada her children's happiness comes before the 'log kya kahenge' mindset.

3. Being ideal without being perfect

Narmada though is ideal she is not perfect. That is the best part about her. She is still kept 'human' with her own flaws and own insecurities and own quirks. Arvind's death has instilled an insecurity within her that BM keeps using, she speaks in broken english, but despite all of that the woman has a heart of gold.

Narmada breaking ITV mother stereotypes part 2

There is no over protectiveness for her son or that tad bit of extra love commonly seen in mother-son duos on ITV. She is not possessive of him but is quite sorted. She cares for him but lets him have his independence. She wants him to be happy but respects his life choices too. I have also never seen a moment where she discriminates between Arpita and Aryan.

Not just ITV bro, I've seen mothers IRL be soooo damn over protective of their sons to the point of suffocating.

Narmada is very soft spoken bt very strong, considering she hz single handedly brought up her two children after her husband's death. N after the fiasco with Arvind she hz stood like a wall to protect her kids. N nw shez dng the same with Imlie. 😊
