This entire week we’ve seen Narmada be a calm, composed mother who understands her son so well. She knows that in his badla ki aag, he’s going to destroy himself and Imlie more than he could ever Aditya. She initially saw Imlie as a potential bahu but then, after the Malini track, you can see her respect and gratitude for Imlie as a human (the line about Imlie as rain, showering people with love, light, and generosity even in deserted times).
Even today, she knew what Aru had done without him even looking at her and she took Imlie’s side. She didn’t once question Imlie’s intentions cause she trusts and knows Imlie. Even after Imlie tried to convince her otherwise, you could see the doubt in Narmada and Arpita’s eyes.
Compare that to Aparna who would let numerous of Adityas mistakes slide by and accuse Imlie 9/10 times.
Also Aru, despite all that happened this week made me smile when he said, stop running away from the situation. Take your time and defeat me. Even in anger he’s motivating her.
Likewise, Imlie is still uncertain about Aru’s intentions. She knows his feelings for her are geniune and can’t wrap her head around Aru using her or trapping her in a forced marriage. I love that she vocalized her confusion in the car.
