That severely bothers me. But, they are also a very patriarchal family who have raised very patriarchal children. In their logic, baby > women's right to abortion/ human rights to bodily autonomy.

So here's the deal : most non-STEM institutions are not anal about attendance. Especially like a metropolitan city like Delhi, bunking classes, and prioritising other work experiences is pretty common. Many students maintain the bare minimum attendance to only appear in exams.

She could have also switched to evening classes, depending on the needs of the script.
