Part 2:
Imlie nearly collided with Nakli Nani on the way out of Aditya's room.
Nani: Chal. Pari awi gawa. Teri Amma koh leke mei bus pakar lungi. Tu bas iss ghar meh khabi aur kadam mat rakhna. Samjhi?
Imlie nearly collapsed, but Nani held her up and all but carried her out.
Aparna and her bhabi, who were taking tea with Malini in the drawing room, noticed that Imlie and her nani were carrying their baggage as their visitor rushed to their aid.
Aparna, moodily: What is going on?
Aditya's father stepped in: Isn't it obvious? You got your wish, Aparnaji. Gharki asli laxmi is leaving.
Malini smirked into her tea in great relief. Finally. She had fought and won her love.
Aparna's heart skipped a bit: What? What do you mean, leaving? You can't just leave!
Paresh: Why!? Why can't she leave? Haven't you all put her through enough? Of course she can leave. Who are we all to stop her?
Chachaji appeared: This is not right.
Paresh: Nothing that happened in this household thanks to you all was right. Everyone has a limit and Imlie has reached hers. And I support her in this. No one will stand in her way anymore. (Rupi Di and Nishant tried to interfere as they approached the commotion) No. Stay where you are!
Imlie: Thank you, Baba. (She went and hugged Rupi Di and Nishant Bhaiya). Thank you for everything.
Prakash: Chale, Imliya?
Nani: Ha. Yeh drama bohot howigawa. Chal, Imliya.
Aparna: Pareshji, stop her! What will happen to Adi?
Paresh lost his temper: You should have thought of that before you decided to turn into a hypocrite, Aparnaji. You promised to love her like a mother. This little teen girl. And you took out all your anger against Aditya on her. She was her mother's amanat to us. What did you think would happen!?
Aparna burst into tears: Pareshji!
Paresh's bhabi intervened: How can you talk to your wife like this!?
Paresh clasped his hands together at his bhabi: Aap toh chup hi rahiye, Bhabi. I don't want to say anything out of respect for your position. Throwing water on a sleeping girl and kicking her out on the streets in a city like Delhi where she knows no one...it really sums up your attitude toward being a responsible member of society - forget head of this household.
Kakaji: Paresh!
Paresh: Nehi bhaisaab. I stayed quiet out of respect for all of you long enough. The water has reached above our heads now. My son ruined his life with his own hands by not owning his first marriage and rather than blaming him, you all took it all out on this teenage girl who had no choice in the matter. That is the kind of baba you proved to be to her. A fatherless child that you said you would raise. You questioned her character. An 19 year old's character! You have no ground of stand on. Imlie beta, you go, this house has given you nothing. Ho sake toh maaf kardena mujhe, I misunderstood you for a time and I could not do more for you.
Imlie barely nodded as Nani held her up.
Malini, sheepishly: We will miss you, Imlie.
Rupi Didi: Shut up!
Malini's cheeks reddened.
Imlie let go of Nani and approached Malini now. She took off her red bangles and gave them to her: Be good to him.
Aparna took hold of Imlie's arm.
Imlie: Aapka suraj aapko mubarak, Kakima. I will not create any problems for you anymore.
Imlie went and took Paresh's blessings and looked at Kakaji. Kakaji looked shame-faced.
She then took hold of Nani: Pari, let's go.
Nishant tried to stop her: Think about it one more time, Cool Bhabi.
Imlie smiled sadly: I did, Nishant Bhaiyya. All I did was think about it. It is time to do something about it.
Imlie hugged the silent Suraj who held the door open, bent down and touched the ground in one last goodbye and walked out.
A dull thud from up the stairs made everyone look up.
Aparna screamed: Adi!!!
Paresh applied the cold compress on Adi's head as his son lay on the bed: Eat something. It has been two days since she left. She's not coming back. Not this time.
Aditya's eyes were closed, but tears slid off the side of his eyes.
Paresh: It is time to grow up, Adi, and take take of your responsibilities. That is what Imlie wanted. You are about to become a father. You need to do better.
A smiling Malini walked in with a bowl of hot soup: Aditya, I made your favorite Thai soup for you. Please get up and have some.
Aditya sat up and looked straight at her: I want nothing to do with you anymore, Malini. No, dad, don't leave. Stay right here. It is time everything was out in the open. You said, take ownership of your responsibilities, so I will. Malini, I know exactly what you did and don't think for a moment that all is forgotten just because I deleted the video. You forget that I saw the video and you were not under-the-influence in it. I didn't believe your mother, I wanted to give you a chance, but your actions this past month against Imlie proved again that you are no innocent. So, you are no longer welcome to enter this room. You will stay in this house as mother to that child as long as you want, but don't think things will go back to as they were just because Imlie has left. I have no desire to be a husband to you. Never.
Malini burst into tears: I fought for my love that was mine for 7 years, what have I done that is so wrong!? That Imlie is the one who took you from me. And we were still married!
Aditya pressed his temple: I am not a cheez, Malini, how many times do I have to clarify that for you!? Imlie had no say in the wedding and neither did I. I know I am at fault for not disclosing that to you. I was worried for your health after you fainted when I told you the first time. And you took it all out on your own little sister! What has become of you, Malini? You weren't like this. And what love were you fighting for? This was your way? Assault!? Do you see what a disgusting human being you have become!? I will tolerate you in this house, but don't for a minute think that you have stolen me back from your sister. I am not a thing to be passed around. I will try to be as good a father as I can be to your child, but never expect any relationship with me. Our marriage was not sanctified, I told you this. I was already married. I wronged you, I know. I apologized a thousand times. I was concerned for your health and did what I thought was best at the time. But we cannot be man and wife. What stays legally registered is only for the sake of this child. Now, leave this room at once, Ms. Chaturvedi. I am ashamed to even call you a friend anymore.
Malini ran out crying.
We will skip ahead in the next part. Please let me know what you think so far.
