Finally we get a decent episode today that spoke on a lot of the points we wanted addressed, in a way that not only made sense, but also to a large extent built the foundation of how this entire track will play out. It showed that our leads are noticing the shifts in perception and calling it out, while still trusting the person responsible for putting them in this position.
The episode starts out with Aditya's colleagues making fun of Imlie's dress and makeup. Aditya comes to her defense, reminding people that "this is Imlie from Pagdandiya - State topper (well second, but minor details), scholarship holder, who is making her path on her own without any external help. He reminds people that she has achieved everything with her own struggles, unlike some of his own colleagues who have never had to struggle for anything in life. He reminds people that - Izzat insaan ki hoti hai, kapdon ki nahi (hence pickaoing Malini's endgame & how). He then goes to sarcastically call out each of his colleagues weak points, so much that both Imlie & Aparna try to warn him to calm down (again like teh saas - bahu jodi they are😆). Sundar tries to add fuel to fire😆, but then Editor saheb manages the situation by reminding Adi of how for the last 10 years, everyone has only seen him khadoos and mean, but today people have found out that he can do comedy as well🤣. Well biwi se kuch toh gun seekhenge na humare Babusaheb, for which Editorji also complimented the right person. He congratulated Imlie for getting out this hidden facet of him, which was so sweet to see. He also apologized on behalf of his staff which was very graciously accepted by Imlie, who as usual takes it in stride - jo Malini aur Aparna ko as usual hazam nahi hui😆
Waise today was the day Malini was going to be called out for actions, jiski shuruat was initiated by Rupi di & Pallavi. They wanted to know why she was trying to sabotage everything and play innocent, despite being her elder sister. How she is trying to take away Imlie's haq, to which as usual Malini gets all defensive and tries to act bechari, which gets Aparna to her support - as usual. Aparna wants to put all the blame on Imlie, knowing how she is, but still not willing to let anyone taunt her golden bahu.
Next in line came Imlie herself, who wanted to know why Malini did what she did, knowing that it was not suitable for the party. Malini tries to defend herself again saying that what other say should not matter to her, kyunki she always has her husband as her protector, who will defend her actions in front of the world, no matter what she does. Malini was spewing out her frustration of how Adi had always defended what Imlie used to do earlier, specially during the sindoor kand, in a way taunting Imlie and showing how jealous she was of the fact that Aditya is always there to protect Imlie, no matter what or who tries do to anything wrong.🤢
Nishant announces in the party that he wants to dance with Pallavi as a send off, before she goes to Australia. Yahaan Editor saheb plays cupid again (Awww, he really was the best today) and tells Adi ke comedy toh karli, ab biwi ke saath thoda romance bhi karlo😆. Adi then goes looking for Imlie and finds Imlie & malini together. This scene was well played out, where as usual, Malini had a lot of expectations, which were pulled to the ground when Adi extended his hand towards Imlie and she held his hand. The symbolism was really good, because a few episodes back, in this same hallway Malini had tried to faint and to hold on to Adi, leaving Imlie behind, while today Adi by choice, Imlie ka haath pakadkar, took her to the dance floor, leaving Malini behind. Wow, what a way to close that loop.
Then we finally get the dance we were promised and it delivered and how on multiple levels. GM & ST are really amazing dancers, which was visible in every way today. But luckily since we had the BBC practice sessions in between, today it was more believable that humare serious patrakar can actully deliver such killer moves. The way he dipped her and they gracefully completed each other's moves, almost like beautifully synchronized choreography (beshak which GM must have done), almost to demonstrate the soul connection betwwen Adi & Imlie. Then we get the conversation that we wanted, where Adi asked Imlie why she is wearing this dress and not the saree they chose. He understood that wearing this dress was not her choice, as she looked extremely uncomfortable. Imlie explained that the dress was given by Malini which was why she was wearing it, but instead distracted Adi when he wanted to know why Malini was wearing the saree they both chose. They dance together uninterrupted for almost 45 seconds (this count is only for the portion without the cutaways to the unwanted faces) before Malini cuts in and tries to dance with Adi, to the uncomfortable glares of the Jr T's and Adi trying to get away from her in the most polite way possible. Bechara could not get away despite throwing desperate glances at Imlie to get him away. What bothered me was the words of the song that seemed to be sung by Malini, as it talked about how Adi's touch was making her kasturi & sindoori🤢. Matlab they could have paced this better, or this was done jaan bujhkar, which just pissed me off even more.
Anyway, seeing Imlie stand like that prompted PT to cut in and take her for a dance, which was adorable. I may have not forgiven PT completely after the crap he once spewed out to Imlie, but today to a large extent he did make me smile with the way he was dancing with Imlie to make her feel less out of place. The way he touched her cheek, took her in his arms and was telling her kissas of how he used to keep long hai in college, did the job of making Imlie fell better after seeing Adi & Malini dance. Thank god PT was there today, but the looks that Aparna was throwing at them, mujhe laga aaj phir se PT ki band toh bajne wali hai for sure.
But Imlie's line today where she said that she is more afraid of people who keep their feeling in their heart and not say it aloud was echoed by Adi, who after the dance mentioned how he was bothered that "Kuch Log Waise Nahin Rahe Jaise Hum Sochte The". Editorji gifts a tie to Adi, which becomes a way for Malini to show her skills and Aparna to prompt her like a child for doing so well. Adi is so mad and incomfortable with Malini's advances that he just gave her a look and went away.
Malini as usual went crying to her mom, and gets interrupted by Adi & Imlie, leaving AC worried that they may know the truth. She need not have, as today Adi was anyway on another trip. Today's conversation between the three of them reminded me of the sindoor kand, where as usual Malini was using Imlie as a reason to blame Adi and Adi as usual was trying to put across how no matter what Imlie ki razamandi will alway be his first priority. Malini uses his lines to turn around his words to make herself as the injured party, and chadoes on Imlie again. She makes sure to point out how Imlie is 19 and they do not look good as a couple to the world. Again jaane ki dhamki bhi de deti hai, knowing that will prompt them to stop her, which it does as per the precap as well, where Imlie in her own way is warning Malini that she completely trusts Malini and hopes that she does not violate this trust.
Ab bas dekhna hai how this will play out, as it looks like both Imlie & Adi's antennas are up, and AC is going to do something to give her child back her favorite toy. Let the manipulations begin.
