The question of the day seems to be - is disgust worse or pity? Malini finally seems to have managed to earn both from Adi....so congrats to her for that.
This epi marked a turning point in a miniscule way but it was notable nevertheless.
The party continued today with Adi blasting off his office colleagues for berating Imlie....he once again listed out all her accomplishments - being a state topper etc. and all she has achieved on the strength of her hard work without any privilege. And then he proceeded to mock the various people with their own embarrassing secrets 😆.....NO LIHAAZ mode was on Babusahib ka....until Imlie and his Editor Saab tried to rein him in a bit and sambhaalo the baat by claiming he was just joking😆......baaki Editor saab aaj kaafi shipper mode mein bhi the😆
Imlie was her pure hearted earnest self.....managing to regain her spunk enough to tell Editor Saab ki main toh hoon hi ajeeb, agli baar kuch aur naya kar dungi😆.....and Didi ko puchh bhi liya ki why did you give me this dress when people here clearly didn't like it? But Didi gave her some bullshit taunt as usual.....and then Adi showed up to whisk Imlie away for a dance so that was that😆
Nishvi got to have one last dance together before they say their temporary goodbye😆.....and then Adi-Imlie got to have a lovely dance together.....GM-ST finally did a khul ke ballroom dance appropriate for the setting rather than a random dream sequence like Adi had last time😆.....also in the course of the dance, they were having a whole convo so I liked that they didn't just try to do some cliched romantic thing....Adi used that time to ask her about where she got the dress😆.....and I was very happy to see Imlie didn't hide the truth and told him Malini gave it to her.....even if she did sort of deflect from his second question about why Malini was wearing the sari he chose for Imlie😆
Phir aayi Cheapad Didi literally FORCING herself into an ongoing dance between Adi-Imlie🤪.....Adi was all like WTF is going on😆.....He got super uncomfortable and was staring at Imlie the whole time like mujhe bachaao😆.....Side se Aparna giving creepy happy smiles watching her own son's discomfort😕.....I thought this whole thing would be a shit-show but just then Pankaj showed up to dance with Imlie and the whole thing turned so sweet with the way he cheered her up and Imlie also responded to his banter in kind so sweetly......matlab the GRACE in this girl, man.....she handled such a cheap situation also with so much dignity....there was pain in her eyes but she still had the strength to smile at Pankaj and banter with him too.
Finally the gross dance ended but by the end of it, Adi's face was thunderous😆.....ekdum pissed lag raha tha.....and then Didi made it worse by forcibly insisting on tying a tie that Editor saab gave him as a gift.....The LOOK Adi gave her at the end of this scene is worth playing on a loop as the ULTIMATE expression of disgust😆.....He saw EXACTLY what she was trying to do.....no confusions.....and the cherry on the icing...his line about "Kuch log waise nahin rahe jaisa hum sochte the"😆
I had such low expectations from Adi that his brain working even this much is definitely cause for some pleasant surprise 😆......and then this continued in the last scene as he took Imlie with him to go have a talk with Malini. But by then he had switched back to the Adi who talks all politely and gently to Malini even as he wants to get his point across.....I initially wondered why this much lihaaz.....but as the scene progressed, it became clear why. All Adi tried to explain to her was that Imlie's comfort is his top priority and he was doing it as politely as he could instead of getting into the details of the cheap displays Malini did in the party......but even then Malini exploded defensively without an ounce of shame.....twisted everything and justified herself as supposedly still trying to "help" Adi-Imlie since everyone talks about their "incompatibility" as a couple🤔, so she put Imlie in that outfit to "help"....wow......Adi didn't buy any of her bakwaas even for a moment.....it was showing in the pity in his eyes.....and the way he responded to her usual guilt tripping attempts with claims of how Adi is doing shak on her blah blah......Adi downplayed everything to not let the situation get out of hand I guess......but as far as I can tell, kuch gehri dosti ka lihaaz nahin ho raha tha.....there was pity in his eyes as he watched the scope of the ugliness in her.
Anyways, Didi may continue to stay in T house over another round of meherbaani from Imlie's Didi jaap.....but I saw a shift in Adi today....the scales have fallen from his eyes about what Malini is trying to do.....and I think that will factor into whatever is coming up even if Malini continues to stay in T house.
Imlie still seems to be hanging on to some thread of a hope from Didi even now about her blind trust in Didi.....I can only hope the thread snaps next week somehow and Imlie leaves T house.....the story needs to shift out of this zone.
