First of all, sahir was not rich. Zeenat might have actually liked him before.but the will said saiyaara goes to her, and she couldn't handle the company. She tried to but couldn't and did not have time for sahir. Sahir still loved her so he could do anything to make her happy. He made the promise to help her and get zeenat to love him back. Zeenat became happy but when sahir was not fast enough she got angry and started to hate him...
She was rich... but I don't think she was that rich then. And going by what we have seen of her, she is egoistic, stubborn, heartless, selfish and manipulative. Maybe she got attracted to Sahir and once the newness wore off she got bored of his ways. She wanted to live the high life and Sahir didn't enjoy that. She was high maintenance and so manipulated Sahir to do all the hard work... and he was starting to earn the money but I guess it was not fast enough for her. She wanted instant fame and fortune. And since it was her business he started with, she always taunted him about being a poor orphan, etc, made him feel inferior to her... she failed to recognize his talent, dedication... her party lifestyle was being maintained because he was working hard... and started having affairs and such!
And why Alvira waited 7yrs?
Well, she wanted to wait for sometime I guess so Sahir will actually agree to get married. Morever Shiraz was not interested and Zaki too young at that time. And the accident had not killed Zeenat, only put her in coma 😕 I think the need for the accident was because Zeenat had decided to divorce Sahir. That would mean, no husband... and Alvira and her kids would go back to basics, back to listening to Zeenat. And in the 3 years of marriage Zeenat had become more stubborn and haughty. So Alvira couldn't take that chance... hence she arranged for the accident so Sahir can inherit everything. And by this time she was in Sahir's good books and vice versa.
But the Coma happened... not 7 years could also be a legal thing. In Indian courts, under extra-ordinary circumstances like a wife in coma, I think divorce without consent is allowed... so maybe Alvira thought if Sahir married Arzoo and divorced Zeenat, then again he forfeits all the wealth. Once Alvira can secure that, she can kill a comatose Zeenat... Again, fortunately or unfortunately except for the marriage, nothing else went her way!
