Zilch

Nothing happens when they are in the same frame

Sahir and Arzoo's first meeting on the plane was such a blah... In fact they both had better chemistry with the third passenger in their row LOL.

And I feel bad for Harshad Chopra, as he is the reason most of us are watching. I have been a huge fan since Kis Desh Me Hai... days (my first ever Indian show) and he was very good in Tere Liye.

Here, his character is falling flat.

I can't connect with Sahir in any way. Why did he burn down that factory? How can he live with that every day? There was no remorse. So weird. Maybe Harshad is just not portraying the character well enough (is it poor direction or way too much hair?)

As for the female lead, the actress is improving, but the character is just so annoying! She is so principled, so righteous, so strong, so opinionated, so goody goody (doing right by her family) etc etc that makes the character so fake! Her only flaw is she is emotional and loses her temper. Surely a young girl like her can be portrayed more realistically.

How old is she? 22 or so? Too young to hold my interest.

In fact the one character who does interest me is her mother - Nausheen. She is all too real. She is weak, gets taken advantage of, worries about her family, tries so hard to survive with dignity. A real woman, not a fake character. The show is so full of it - fakeness.

Note from mods: Please avoid making comparisons with other couples, shows, or characters. Removed that part.

I would give time for judging chemistry as there is not any scene yet.. There is not even one scene where its shown that they are attracted to each other.. The couples you mentioned, always had attraction from first scene.. Sahir-Arzoo story will be different IMO. Clearly, I can sense love triangle and probably halala nikal of Sahir-Arzoo. If they show chemistry and everythign now, people wont be able to accept any love triangle or what writers want to show. I am happy the way characters are being portrayed till now.
I liked Aarzoo's character more than any other Gul's OTT heroines. She is much bearable. She has falws like anger, manipulating people sometimes. As you mentioned she is very opinionated which makes her judgemetal which is biggest flaw in any human being. I am more OK with this than watching heroines goign OTT with their blabber and act like spoilt brats.. She is not at all goody..

Sahir is businessman. So this decision is his business decision which is fine accoring to him. Morally its wrong but again everyone has different morals. So basically he does not do anything wrong which he thinks is wrong. And burning down factory is not wrong for him so no question of remorse. And this is much realistic businessman. Almost all businessmen exploits system somehow So how can it be fake?

Kankabhor I agree with you about the character of Arzoo. In fact, that is one of the main reasons I continue to watch this show because the character isn't typical of Gul's previous female characters. The OTT super bubbly characters always put me off.

About the chemistry, I think the leads have pretty good chemistry and it will eventually develop. Despite my reluctance in watching 4Lions shows, I know this much that Gul is at least very good at selecting the right actors to portray the characters. I'm eager to see how Sahir and Arzoo's relationship will eventually develop.

Personally,I am bored of standard formula where in shows ,at first meeting itself BANG!the hero & heroine are attracted. For a change we see two people meeting in normal circumstances and eventually we will see them falling in love. The slow ,a gradual process is what I am looking at.
Arzoo & Sahir ,both have their share of flaws. But I don't think that makes them fake. They have got mix of black & white and that's makes it more interesting.

agreed 100%,HC is doing a great job no doubt but I don't not get why the factory was burnt? and all of a sudden that chapter got closed? unanswered:(.

You are correct, there's always"changari koi bharkay..."but there's no sign of chingari, chingari is a bit of angry passion, little attraction and a deep down feeling that"there's something about you"but I haven't seen anything like this so far b/w arzoo and sahir,I am watching it for HC only.

Btw, arzoo is looking better in open hair, that ponytail was too irritating.

I disagree. All the shows you spoke of were pretty much formulaic. And the attraction between the leads from Day 1 was pretty much based on physical appearances. I am speaking only for myself, and not others- but personally I am so tired of this instantaneous recognition of soul mates and the mandatory falling in the arms in the very first meeting that shows often depict. I am very pleased that this show is attempting something different.

In real life, though we are often attracted to people with good looks, the kind of attraction that holds is one where you are attracted to their personality and not just the looks. Over time, as you interact with them, and where their appeal grows to be so strong that you can't help but be pulled in- because each aspect of theirs becomes appealing to you, and you accept them wholeheartedly, faults included. That is the kind of attraction that sustains itself and holds good in the long run, slowly transitioning to love.

As for Harshad, agreed, he needs to lose the hair, but his look is growing on me. And Sahir doesn't really have any regret because circumstances have molded him into an unfeeling, cold man, bereft of empathy and affection.I think Harshad is doing a good job of portraying Sahir's almost robotic posture, because the man is not moved by ANYTHING. Till now, he is not shown as having a weak spot for his relatives, like Arnav had for his sister or Maan for his dadi. He is completely dark, I find that refreshing.

Arzoo is more sensible that all her predecessors from Gul's shows. She seems to have self-respect in ounces, and Gul finally seems to have realized that a female protagonist can be a little naive while being sensible at the same time. Good for her!

wow there, thats just your opinion tbh, chemistry is subjective because for me i didnt feel that chemistry for khushi and arnav right from the beginning and quite frankly i didnt until like 1 to 2 months later and dont get me started on paro and ruda. also i dont like forced intimate scenes for no reason at all in the beginning where they dont even know each other, have no feelings ect, to much of it getts very desensitizing. i like slow burning romance and intimate scenes that come with it. i love arzoo and sahirs chemistry i see it, and arzoo has got to be one of the best heroine especially from 4lion, where most were so ott. she is flawed and is not perfect at all i dont know how you've been watching the show. but whatever. and really i agree with tech-tonic, with the whole bang, hair flying, long eye lock starting's. and also about more of a normal circumstance stuff. it was refreshing the plane convo and i loved it, change of pace and just different. and sahir character is interesting and is developing well, his not the typical angry man type, or abusive etc his more controlled and restrained in his emotions. dont get me started on the behaviors of the other male heroes you mentioned. both arzoos and sahirs characters are shaping up good, Harshad is doing a absolutly fine job and shivya has improved ten folds. plus the love story hasnt even started. full of fakeness... alright >_> -_-

Just like beauty lies in The eyes of the beholder , I wud say tht Chemistry for everyone can be diff ..

However we shud never judge a book by its cover and his Long has the show been on air ..just three weeks out of which Fridays the show doesnt air ..so I suggest Give it time cos Rome too wasn't build in a day ...

The rest is upto u

^ Agree, ecrivain. Good to see you here:)

And chemistry, much like Rome, isn't built in a day. IMO I took some time to warm up to Asad and Zoya, but in the end they seemed to make much more sense and seemed like an ideal couple. They understood each other fully and accepted each other's faults, and the scene where Asad says- "Mein aapke laayak nahi hoon" still gives me goosebumps.

My only request to Gul is to show that kind of a maturity and organic growth in this show too. Throw in all the eyelocks and nokjhok if you want, but make it count by coupling it with honest conversations and some sensibility. That'd make me a happy camper!
