From a teenager with oodles of dreams in her eyes to vamp in a soap, whose only aim is to kill her daughter-in-law Sudha chandran has come a long way in life. Tragedy struck her at the age of 17 and snatched one of her legs. An aspiring dancer then, Sudha lost the very pulse of her life. How was she to dance without her leg? Dreams crumbled, shattered. Life for her became a dark tunnel with no light.
But a ray of light squirted when she saw the Jaipur foot, a solid, flexible prosthetic foot by Dr. Seth. Though the doctors had given her hope of walking normally and maybe dance once again, it was her mind strength, which turned the impossible task to possible one. She practiced endlessly for about two years to get herself adjusted to the new foot and dance again. There was a warm welcome when she made a comeback and gave an excellent performance at Mumbai.
A director from Hyderabad decided to make a film based on the true story of Sudha's life. She was offered to do the main role. The film in Telugu went on to become a big hit and consequently, was dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam. In Hindi the film was named Nache Mayuri and it got appreciation throughout and people were inspired and were mesmerized by her talent and determination. She also got herself the credit of acting in different languages and became a star. This got her many chances to give dancing performances in different parts of the world. Wherever she gave the performance the audience gave a heart whelming response.
After all these successes she vanished suddenly and then after a long time she made a comeback by making an entry from the big screen to small screen in the serial Kahin Kissi Roz on Star plus and once again created waves by her magnificent acting skills. Her negative role in the serial is worth watching. Now she has turned into a producer and has made two soaps for Eenadu TV. She has more serials and movies at hand now.
The government of India selected to publish Sudha's inspirational story. A perfect role model for her endless achievements to all the youngsters. The transformation from a young girl who had eyes full of dreams, saw her dream castle fall right in front of her own eyes but still determined to such a height that she came back again to show the world that all disability to the body can be overcome if the person has a faith in herself. There is no such force in the world, which would stop her from achieving it. Her struggle has created a special space for her not only in the society but also in the entertainment industry.
