The Hum Paanch daughters are back to torment their father — Meenakshi (Vandana Pathak), Radhika (Pamela Mukerji), Sweety (Rakhi Tandon), Kajal Bhai (Bhairavi Raichura) and Chhoti (Pushtie) are all set to evoke giggles with their stunts and tricks. However, this time around, the setting of their pranks is different.
The house they lived in has changed from a modest home to a stylish duplex, filled with futuristic furniture and a candy-coloured palette. The pair of Smita-Salim,who make all Balaji sets, has designed this one too. Sandip Sikcand, creative head for the show, gives the lowdown on the new pad…
Main Hall
The main hall is the focus of the show, because most of the action happens here. The famous portrait of Anand Mathur's (Ashok Saraf) deceased wife, now played by Sudha Chandran, is on the wall. The portrait is more of a character than a picture.
Even after so many years, Beena (Shoma Anand) keeps asking her husband why he talks to the wall. We wanted to incorporate an element of style, yet let viewers borrow ideas to incorporate into their own homes.
Master Bedroom
This is again very simple, with minimal furniture; the look is beautifully done.
On this bed, we will show the restless and worrying father getting dreams of his daughters.
Sweety's Bedroom
This is the most fun room. It looks like its out of Barbie's apartment, and we wanted to keep it that way. Sweety is still a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan, and wants to get married to him. But another new addition to her fan list is John Abraham — his poster is on one of the walls. This is an out-and-out girlie room, the cutest in the entire house.
Kajal Bhai and Chhoti's Room
We have kept this room very simple and elegant. Since Chhoti is busy gossiping all the time, and Kajal Bhai is more of a guy than a girl, the room is neat and tidy. Radhika is the only daughter who is staying with her husband Daljeet (Dheeraj), while Meenakshi has turned her hubby Purshottam (Ali Asgar) into a ghar jamai.
Dining Room
The dining room has a staircase that leads to the upper bedrooms. The set has two floors – the hall and dining room are on the ground floor; bedrooms on the top. The dining room will be the place where the clan meets for breakfast and long, family conversations
