I don't know. He used Gautam to arrest Jairaj knowing how hard it is for Gautam. Then he said he's giving the case to them both to keep Gautam occupied. Maybe it's to keep Gautam occupied from finding the truth. Also he's the one who phoned the media on an exclusive. 😕
