Great Thread Seetha👏⭐️, love the way how you use humor to describe that what happened in HHN .

I agree with Pea, it is a CVs blunder, because in reality, I am sure it would never happened.
People do take care about other people 's feelings and customs. And I am sure in reality Professor would never put a fish dish in front of his friends/family who are vegetarians.

I agree, the CVs are messing up full-time, first this name-changing drama which is lingering on and on and then this Pintoo being insensitive to his vegetarian relatives, what the fish!

Even in Italy, if you order a veg pizza you will get vegetables and fish on it, they consider fish vegetarian😛

Very true ...once I attended to a Bengali Marriage feast in Kolkata ...and in Veg section there was Fish curry displayed on the table !

I didnt understand Pinto presenting the Fish, if he took care to prepare food at neighbours house then why present the fish at table. Even if it was a ritual he should have done that with sag seperately in kitchen or something.
Even I thought amma was at fault for refusing to come but then pinto was at fault for presenting the fish.

Name changing drama is more regressive and will hurt a bride's self respect than anything else !In some orthodox families, a new bride might change her full name to one her in-laws prefer...just like in the case of Sagz !
My name was the first gift I was ever given by my parents other than my life! I cannot see myself as any name other than my maiden name!
The Hindu Marriage Act,1955 or for that reason no other Matrimonial enactment in India provides that after the marriage the woman has to change or not to change her first or last name as the case may be. The legislature no where provided for this change of name or no change of name after the marriage for the Indian women. This is a custom or usage being practiced for centuries in India & it is the Indian culture where the women of her own accord or being part of the society changes her first or last name in consultancy with her husband & other in laws. Law of the country no where ask them to change or not to change their name. If you want to check where in the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 there exist in any section, line, para with regard to change of name for married Hindu woman, then sorry !you will not find it there !!! If the married woman doesn't want to change her name ,no one can force her to do so ,it's entirely her free will to do it or not to do it !
Anyway who is that lawyer who came to Amma's house to change the name of Sagarika ??!!! How dare ?! We have to check his degree !

Seems it is a vicious circle !---This is a situation in which the apparent solution of one problem in a chain of circumstances creates a new problem and increases the difficulty of solving the original problem ! Here the original problem is ..the eagerly awaited SR of SagUn !

As a Bengali, I take offense to how they are showing Pintu and his sister obsessed with fish dishes!
Bengali cuisine has dozens of mouth-watering Vegetarian dishes, like Shukto, chochchori (mixed veggies),
Shaak (14 types of different saags are there )
Lauki with Vadi or peas
Chhanar dalna (paneer curry)
kanchkolar kofta (raw banana kofta curry)
Echor dalna (raw jackfuit curry)
Mochar ghonto (banana flower curry)
dhokar dalna (lentil dumplings curry) and the list can go on and on.

As a non veg Bengali, I really love all our vegetarian dishes!

We are stipulated to eat only vegetarian dishes on certain days, on Durga-Ashtami, for Shraadh ceremonies (Funeral), on most Puja days, some ladies even have pure vegetarian on every Thursday as its Lakshmi Puja day.

The makers of this serial are Punjabis (Tony and Diya Singh) of DJ's Creative Unit and they have no idea abt what Bengalis eat and how they serve people who are pure vegetarians.👎🏼

Ive had vegetarian friends come for dinner and had no problem serving them pure veggie dishes as our Bengali vegetarian repertoire is almost endless!

I have a good mind to report this PH to the IBC whose link and phone number is always given at the beginning of each episode.

Pallavi ...appreciate your views ! I think ...here the CVs are not trying to demean either Bengli culture or the UP or Bihar culture ! They are creating a situation to dramatise ...to widen the gap between the two families ,so that Bunty will have to leave his house to be with Sagarika ...yes ..hurting the people's sentiment is not comedy .. it is only mockery !
