Kate keeping her Oscar in the loo isn't derogatory at all. How strange to think it is so esp if One has seen her acceptance speech & near crying on stage!! She was nominated a lot, though not as much as BFF Leo, but didn't win an Oscar until The Reader. The loo is the best place to keep the Oscar b/c everyone visits the loo!!! It's the perfect place b/c it's such a HumbleBrag! Unless you expected her to frame it & prop it on a wall!

^ LOL. Ya that was Kate Winslet. It's a well/known fact that she had placed her Oscar in the loo & I for one, loved it! It's such a humble brag & yet a quirky place to put it. It also diminishes narcissism that we generally equate with international top stars. 😆 I hope that Leo DC doesn't put his on the wall because that's just stupid. And arrogant. 😆

Good that Leo finally won , was a very weak competition in best actror category though.
Stallone should have won supporting actor , and would have not been a sympathetic one

^ Ofc all of us do & we preserve it. But preservation is different from putting it up on a wall. That's only for people, not for you. 😆

Learnt this from my brother when my mother wanted his Distinction certificate from Oxford to be framed on the wall. He ran away & has it in his room because it just attracts jealousy & negativity!

Isn't always due to smartness etc
But a combination of that & lots of discipline & hard work. And luck! That's a big, big ingredient for Success.

People & their jealousy, insecurity & negativity is immensely harmful! Why should Leo win an Oscar. He rather have people exclaim over why he hasn't won an Oscar till now.
